If the draft lottery is rigged (and it isn't) then what will be the top 4 on draft lottery night?

Post#1 » by NYG » Thu Jun 17, 2021 2:01 am

If the NBA Draft Lottery is rigged (and it isn't), what will be the results of the draft lottery on Tuesday night?

I always says it actually makes more sense to have the smaller markets get an uptick more so than the markets that are already thriving.

1. Houston Rockets (only because you can't afford to have them lose their pick with their international presence.)
2. Minnesota Timberwolves (new ownership)
3. Detroit Pistons (could use an injection of singular talent)
4. Charlotte Hornets (small market that suddenly becomes very interesting)

1. LA Lakers
2. New York Knicks
3. Boston Celtics
4. Brooklyn Nets

Or some combination of those four.

Then Orlando “wins” either pick 1 or 2 (for helping out Chicago and Denver). Prob pick 2:Mobley

Houston and OKC prob both “win”. Most likely 1 and 3 or 4. Houston giving James Harden to Brooklyn ensures not losing out huge.

1: okc: Cunningham
2: Orl: Mobley
3: Hou: Jalen Green

Then obviously they have a tough choice on how to decide what to do with Minnesota/Golden State
: Minneapolis hometown hero Jalen Suggs fits wolves too much. Guy is smart enough to pick Gonzaga. Can’t all go right.

Minnesota maybe 3 for Suggs. GS could love 5-8 for any of Kuminga, Jalen Johnso, Barnes, or Alp Sengun

LOL isn't rigged... NOP getting the 1 pick in the draft right after losing AD proves it is rigged{unless you believe in Karma}

They aren't going to reward Houston for bad asset management and cheap ownership. Will be OKC if anyone from the top 3 or a team from the outside imo. Houston will get one when Feritta is ready to sell in two years.

You're aware the league approved the sale of the team to Fertita, yes?

He sucks but it's the leagues fault and I'm pretty sure they care more about the money Houston makes both as a large market team in the country and their popularity outside of it

Orlando - never had any lottery luck in their last rebuild, tried to get competitive but flopped.

Detroit - they just haven’t caught any breaks in a while. Docked one spot for tanking so hard.

Houston - can’t let them lose their pick and leave that fan base with nothing new and exciting to cheer for.

TOR - cheeky reward for Canadian fans.

SAC/CHA/NOP/SAS/CHI - I could see any one of them getting rewarded for having tried to be competitive at least.

OKC - drop for gross tanking efforts, and being pick greedy, haha.

CAVS - drop because they’ve had plenty of chances to get good.

MIN - drop and lose pick because they’ve already had plenty of draft chances and failed to do anything with it.

Those are the narratives I’d be handing out lottery results to if I was rigging the lottery.

Yeah.. if it was rigged I don't think it'd work out well for OKC unlike some here think. Small market and the league has never been happy about teams brazenly tanking on purpose like they are vs organically being bad like every other team towards the top of the lotto odds

Why would the league or anyone outside CLE rig it for them to win?
Maybe they are hoping the Cavs pick whoever this seasons Anthony Bennett is or what ? smh

The Cavs dropped to 5th from 2 the past two seasons missing out on Ja,Barrett,Wiseman and Ball. I don't think they have had plenty of chances recently. LOL

Anthony Bennet, Kyrie, Wiggins all in the last decade. They gutted it all for LeBron to get them a ring, and then bail on them again.

Yeah they’ve had enough chances and rewards for now.

As a Cavs fan I think drafting Bennett is good enough reason to permanently ban us from picking #1. But still, we have to find a new franchise player one of these years, so a 3rd or 4th pick would be nice.

The opportunity cost for selecting Bennett was Alex Len, Nerles Noel, and Ben Mcklemore. All get traded for Love anyway.

In the history of bad draft picks Anthony Bennett isn't in the top 100 for opportunity cost.

Not enough for any Cavs fan who have watched a jekyll and hyde show since 2010. 4 great seasons , 1 ring and 6 trash fires... we are due again.

It is rigged, Rockets and T-wolves will be 1,2. Rockets lose big star, replaced with top pick. T-Wolves recently sold.

If it's rigged, at least two of GSW, Chicago, Toronto or NOLA in the top 4. Could make a point about OKC with the first pick to get their guy from Oklahoma. Houston because they need a good pick after losing Harden.
