Wait until two years from now and watch teams race to the bottom for Victor Wembanyama.

he might be the best prospect in history. He'll put on some natural grown man weight and size but if he goes on the Lebron/Giannis PED diet and gains 40-50 lbs he could end up being the GOAT. Yes, even over MJ.

Yeah, but guys that tall typically don't stay healthy in the NBA. I hope he does, but it might not be worth it.

I really, really like this kid. I don't see how anyone can watch him and come away unimpressed. But his slight frame for his position kind of worries me. The NBA world will be watching him with a magnifying glass.

I don’t think NBA front office people are coaches are going to be more enamored with him than the guys that come in with like mega ridiculous bodies and games where they already look like they’re playing with children like Shaq, Wilt, LeBron, Zion etc.
I don’t think he’ll ever have the physicality to pop out on film reels as a teen like these guys did.
Wonderful prospect, and I’m not even putting a ceiling on it, just saying from a visual and pro readiness standpoint, he’s just so underdeveloped body wise.

Victor’s peer comp is Porzingis, now I know Victor is clearly more talented and the most talented prospect outside of the NBA.
But psychics and human limits do have a threshold. Being that tall and doing what they do now meet at polar opposites.
His frame as well same with Kristaps can’t and will not support any excess weight which by definition will have to be put on.
At least Chet is in the non danger height territory and Banch is fine and even then you can run into health problems.
It will be a never been done before. I always side with history in basically any and all things. The wheel keeps going around sort of thing

I think he can be early-career Ralph Sampson w/ a 3PT shot. He is much better defensively than Zinger.
But as others have said, once your above about 7'0-7'1, the injury potential seems to increase exponetionally. Still, he looks special.

I've seen people bring up Rudy Gobert as a potential development curve body wise. I just don't see it atm as Rudy looked bigger than Victor. Bigger shoulders, arms and lower base. BUT if Victor can hit that Rudy development. omg.

There isn't that much incentive for tanking anymore given the worst 3 teams only have a 14% chance of getting #1. I think what we're seeing is that the smart rebuilding teams are trying to load up on first round draft picks, as opposed to just focusing on getting a top 3 pick.

Chet may go #1 next year and when he went head to head with Victor, Victor was much better. And he was two years younger too.

Let let him debut in Euroleague first

He had below average scoring game even in junior tournaments.

he's 7'2". Same height as Kareem. He had better longevity than pretty much any player in NBA history.
He's 1 inch taller than Gobert, Wilt, Shaq, David Robinson. They didn't have too much injuries. Rik Smits was 7'4" and he stayed pretty healthy.

Ever heard of Kareem? Him and Victor are both 7'2"

I think he ends up closer to 7'4 but who knows.
I truly hope he stays healthy, he has the chance to be such a fund player to watch.

Wemby is insanely tall, guys. He is *clearly* taller than Zach Edey in this photo. Edey is listed at 7'3" and is a big big boy. Jovic is 6'10" and Ivey is 6'4" but looks like a midget in comparison. The Ralph Sampson comp is spot on imo.

Ivey looks 5-8 next to Yama, dude even makes Holmgren look short
is Edey really 7-4? looks more 7-2 to me.
