No one is talking about him, but he's nice. Ambidextrous ball-handler. Was a 6'3" point coming out of high school. Grew to 6'6". Quick first step. Good acceleration. Love his game. Just needs to be a little more consistent with his shot.

what guard/wing at the d1 level isn't an ambidextrous ball handler. hell, at the HS varsity level if you don't handle as well with your left as your right, you probably aren't starting.

that doesn't mean he's not a guy to watch - just saying the fact he can handle with both hands isn't anything to write home about.

having a great season though. as a byu fan in the same conference he'll definitely be a guy to keep an eye on.

there are a lot of guards and wings at the D1 level that I wouldn't consider ambidextrous because they look uncomfortable with their off hand.

when I say ambidextrous, I don't know if he is truly ambidextrous, but he is an extremely comfortable (~elite relative to college, way above average relative to NBA) off-hand dribbler and finisher as well as passer. guess I should have clarified.

What planet are you on? Very few NCAA wings can dribble with either hand let alone both. GTFO :lol:

Kinda caught his last game. First game seeing anyone in this class... Looks to have nice skill level, decent size/length, and those things. Sorta reminds me of Primo.

One glaring thing I notice is he doesn't seem to have much lift on either side of the ball. I think that's going to hold him to the 2nd rd. What separates him from a prospect like Devoe.

He is flashing a little more athleticism than I remember at Santa Clara, reflective of the athletic testing numbers and elite measurements. With that said, lottery is a bit much.

i dont love his movement, i dont think he's a strong NBA athlete. But I love his size and his game. Do people think he has lead ball handler potential, or is the excitement more as a big complimentary guard? I've had him on my board for a while, but I've been timid about moving him into the teens.

To me, JW should be drafted in the 20s. He's a sure thing as a rock solid NBA roll player with starter upside. Reminds me a lot of Ayo D last year. I had no clue why he was mocked in the second round.

By the time the draft came along I had him at #13 on my big board. He was one of my top 5 favorite prospects in the draft. Back in May, I was just getting into him and maybe only timid because he had yet to be embraced as a first-round lock. I was wondering then if people were seeing something bad that I didn't. He has kind of an interesting body and movement style, but yeah probably learning he had a 7'2.25" wingspan put any potential concerns I had to rest at the time. I don't remember my reaction though. Still a big fan and very excited for his season. Hopefully he carves out some minutes in that interesting backcourt.

I don't know what his ceiling is at this point but he definitely wasn't picked too early. The guy just knows how to play the game in multiple ways. He's such a fun player to watch. It's refreshing for OKC to draft a rookie that's this NBA ready.

he has played well pretty consistently from summer league through pre season and now the regular season. he hasn't put up eye popping numbers, but he's been efficient and steady pretty much every game. just needs to start hitting threes and he'll be golden.
