Breaking the mold? Trevor Hudgins

Now, I know he is a long shot to get picked in the draft this year due to his size, but Trevor Hudgins is one of the most accomplished small college players ever to play. I think he will eventually secure a backup point guard role. There are winners and then there is Trevor Hudgins. He is 17-0 in all NCAA D2 tournament games. Simply put, his IQ and reads are at an NBA level already. He will struggle against length initially, but he is the type of player that I am comfortable saying will find a way to counter and pick his spots. If he played D1, I feel comfortable saying he would be All Conference in a Power Conference. 41.5% from 3, 90% at the line. Defensively, he has good hands, but this is obviously going to be a weak spot with bigger players exploiting mismatches against him. Still, the offensive efficiency is probably enough to counter his limitations.

Take a look at how he creates space for himself on this clip.
