Leonard Miller

1) Ok, this guy is good. 6'11", 7'2" wingspan, 208 lbs are his measurements from Nike Hoop Summit. For a guy who's 6'11", and doesn't turn 19 till end of november (so he's literally the youngest player in this draft class) he can shoot, handle the ball and pass really well. Good athleticism, he's quick, bouncy. Had an impressive finish in the Nike Hoop summit, when he was un-fazed by the big 7'1" Dereck Livey as Miller went right throw Lively for the bucket.

Highlights from nike hoop summit:

HS Highlights:

Top 10 pick!

2) Anyone know why this guy is eligible? I thought the rule was you couldn't be draft eligible until the year after you graduated HS. But here's footage of a HS game he played in February 2022:

Maybe he graduated in December, got his diploma but just kept on playing the rest of the season for his HS team?

Looking at his game and measurements he is a lottery lock. After Ivey, Jabari, and Chet, I can see a GM betting on his upside.

Absolutely a lotto pick. I was going to actually create a thread for him. Killed it at the Nike Hoops Summit.

I think he is eligible because he is international, right? Canada.

Great ball skills for his size: handles enable him to get to the rim with ease, and he can shoot from three point range. No brainer lotto and it is a question of how high he goes. There's a case for him very far up in the top 10.

Hopefully he is top 20, so someone can fall to the Grizzlies.

Yeah they compare him to Odom in this video:

Love him for MEM, they are stacked even if they lose some FA and can afford on a 'wait and see' prospect.

Leonard Miller, Ousmane Dieng, Peyton Watson even Josh Minott should be targeted with 1 of the 2 picks. Take a guard to replace Tyus with the other.

Yeah, he is an unexpected early entrant for me, so I want him to be top 20. But would be happy if the Grizzlies selected him at 22/29 for sure.

Oh and I don't want to replace Tyus at all. Prefer to bring him back.

This feels like a 90's high school player eligible draft.

Doesn't he seem like a bit of an awkward athlete?

I know very little about him, just here to learn.

I see the allure but I don't think I'm buying that he is going to go lottery. Seems really raw, I know that shot is going in but I don't think it's going to extend out to NBA range at all, does a lot of dribbling but the handle looks really loose.

He looks like someone who can be a star. Is he more Odom or Bosh?

I'd say more Odom but he's kind of a mix of both of them.

He looks like more of a SG with extreme height due to a late growth spurt so he has more in common with Durant and PG than Bosh who was always a face up big man and Odom (small forward playmaker) who wasn't a shooter.

Article blowing up smoke: https://ftw.usatoday.com/2022/05/nba-draft-leonard-miller-kentucky-arizona-g-league-ignite-overtime-elite

Unranked on 247, Rivals, ESPN. #2 by On3.

Half the front office gonna google him next Monday after him being declared eligible yesterday and USA Today beat writers writing a feature today, This is a mega information disparity kind of situation. Oh you guys like highly ranked players with no college minutes? Take a 7 foot version of Shaedon Sharpe as a bonus.

On a side note, I believe On3 is throwing hail mary's with their ranking. If either Flip or Miller hits, they are gonna make ESPN/Rival/247 all look like bloody fools next year. On3 missing badly isn't a horrible outcome with them being so new.

Yeah, he has grown 6 inches over the last 2-3 seasons. Do not think his coordination has caught up yet.

I just found a negative, which is a pretty common one. He is a "hold back." He played a 5th year of high school basketball.
