Tough prospect to figure out...

When I watch this I'm thinking he's a potential lottery pick:

6'8", 7'1" wingspan. Fast, athletic, fluid. Still only 19 yrs old.

No. 1 on the team at UCLA in defensive rating

Steal % of 2.8, a blocks % of 2.8 which are really good numbers for a freshman

The shot looks good here too:

Lotto pick, right?

Well, maybe not. Here's the other side of the coin:

-More turnovers than assists
-5.0 fouls per 40 mins
-32/22/68 shooting splits
-Only averaged 3 points a game. Only played 12 mins a game, with David Singleton and Jaylen Clark getting MUCH more mins than him

Thoughts? Where would you take him?

At this point I'm thinking that he's worth a flier in the mid to late 2nd round..

I have him top 10 on my big board even though he's likely to fall into the second round. I'm not sure I'd want to risk a top 10 pick on him just because of the bust potential, but from 15 onward I think he should be considered at every pick.

Loved him preseason. Had a maddening season. Would likely take him 31-45.

He has had a private trainer for quite some time being from Los Angeles. Why he would make a choice to attend a school where he wasn't a guaranteed starter is concerning to me. I've seen him blow easy layups. I wouldn't bet highly on his untapped potential. When he looks good, why shouldn't he? He has a private trainer already.

He was terrible at UCLA.

Nugs at 21 have to hit on long term Barton replacement. I really like Kendall brown, beauchamp, and think Bryce McGowans and Watson are way closer to worth 21 than most are saying.

He is lucky if he gets drafted in the 2nd round, despite his very good measurements. He did not participate in the scrimmages to at least flash something different than what he showed at UCLA.

Greg Brown was a similarly ranked HS prospect with similar measurables who actually produced a bit and ended up going in the 40's.

Watson should be a 50-60 pick.

Watson at least showcased defensive potential. Brown was probably the least court-aware college player I've ever seen.
