Will Banchero, Holmgren or Smith fall out of the top 3 on draft night?

Is there any chance Banchero, Holmgren or Smith falls out of the top 3 on draft night or is that pretty set in stone?

Will Presti do something unexpected? Does Houston take Ivey? Is a guy like Shaedon Sharpe higher on real life boards than people realize? Keegan Murray? Dyson Daniels?

I could see Presti grabbing Ivey at 2. It would be very similar to his Westbrook pick.

Not the most likely but Ivey at 2 or 3 isn't impossible.

If Chet is #2 I bet he will follow the long list of #2 picks who are busts. While Jabari and Paolo will be good.

With the first overall pick the Orlando Magic select...
Jabari Smith

Followed by...

With the second overall pick the Oklahoma City Thunder select...
Shaedon Sharpe

With the third overall pick the Houston Rockets select...
Dyson Daniels

With the fourth overall pick the Sacramento Kings select...
Keegan Murray

That's the kind of weird stuff that happens on the actual night of the draft haha

I'm not a big Jabari Smith believer. I think he has a high floor, but lower ceiling. Regardless, he looks pretty much locked in at #1.

It's possible Holmgren falls because of questions about his frame and NBA position.

I don't think there's any chance that Banchero falls past 3.

Chet will fall all the way to the Pacers at #6.

Imho it behooved Chet to return for his sophomore year to bulk up and enhance his game.

I'd take 2 or 3 guys ahead of Banchero. Ivey is the most likely to go ahead of him at 3.

Do the Kings real life regime like Murray enough to take him over Holmgren if Ivey goes 2 to OKC?

No offense but that makes no sense, even if he drops to 6. You don't go back to school if you're a guaranteed top 5 pick (which Chet prob has a 99% chance of being) and the risks greatly outweigh the rewards for obvious reasons.

You're probably trolling however so carry on.

It would be hilarious to see Chet punching air if this happens.

You should do what’s best for your development. You become a better NBA product that way in the long run. Returning for his sophomore year would’ve greatly reduced his (currently very real) Bust Potential.

Looks like he could barely gain any weight in his freshman year. What makes you think he can do it as a sophmore? And if he has bust potential, wouldn't going back make him slide even more than 6th? (Him getting picked 6th is really unlikely btw)

It's harder to gain weight and get better at basketball as a college student than it is as a multi millionaire with NBA trainers.

not sure i agree with that. college teams are limited to the amount of time coaches can work with players. in the pro's, a team can hire a chef full time for Chet, have him work 24 hours a day with their trainers and work with the coaches. plus, guaranteed money. he gets a fluke injury next year, even missing just a few games and now he starts carrying an "injury risk" label even more

I'm sorry but that's just a ridiculous take. Players should always secure the bag if they are guaranteed to be a top 5 pick. Even if he has a substantial insurance policy he would still lose millions if he had a career ending injury.

You're essentially saying he should not take the guaranteed $25M+ in hopes of enhancing his game. Makes 0 sense.
