Yes, he's 23 years old.

And yes, we only have 1 season for a sample of him as a good 3 pt shooter.

BUT we have 3 seasons now of him being a very good FT shooter.

And it's hard to ignore guys with his size (6'8", 250 lbs. Not seeing a wingspan listed anywhere but if you watch him play, you'd guess it's at least 7'0") who can handle the ball, make moves to get to their spots and get a shot off, have good passing feel and are shooting 48% from 3, and 80% from FT line.

Not to mention he dropped 31 points on Illinois, 30 points on Kentucky and last night he dropped 26 on LSU (5/6 from 3, 10/11 FG, had 8 rebs, 5 assists, 2 steals, 1 block, only 2 turnovers and 3 fouls.

Here's the game last night vs LSU. Shows some nice switchability defending out on the perimeter at 7:00, bullies his way to the rim for a strong finish at 8:23, and a couple of nice cuts to the basket and finishes at 8:49 and 12:09..

His body type is kind of like a taller Paul Pierce - his shooting form and some of his moves with the ball are kind of like Pierce too. Not saying he's as good as Pierce though, obviously.

Brown projects as a stretch 4 in the NBA, who can possibly play some small ball 5.

I think he's definitely worth taking a flier in the 2nd round - he could end up delivering some serious 1st round value..

Glad we're getting another Kobe in the league to carry on the legacy.

He wears #24 too.. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Hopefully he’s more Kobe & less Brown.

What parent names their kid after an athlete. Pathetic man.

Is it really any worse than naming them after a steak?

I take it back. Kobe Brown is better, at least, this draft cycle.

I've got him as an early to mid 2nd rounder..

Curious what his wingspan is - watching him on film, looks like it might be around 7' or so which would help his stock.

Looks more Kobe & less Brown from what I'm seeing. Not sure if it's just because he's playing against a bunch of mormons though.

He has very interesting tools that should make him easily draftable under normal circumstances but he's simply not in shape and that hurts him a lot defensively. As he is now, he can't defend in the NBA. If you told me that he'd work his butt off to get into shape and embrace playing defense with intensity, I'd like him quite a bit. But if you're not there yet as a Senior before the draft, I question whether he has it generally in him.

Yeah, that's certainly the case against Kobe Brown. I feel like he makes enough plays defensively (deflections, steals, blocks) to at least make enough impact on that end, though.

But you still question how he'd do in a fast, up and down NBA game..

At least we know that he look’s awesome against Mormons now. If the NBA doesn’t work out for him he could be the Joseph Smith of Mormon league hoops.

Watch on YouTube

I just watched this interview he did after a workout with my Blazers.
Came out impressed with his candidness and how realistic he sounded. His awareness is good. +1 for strong character
I loved this answer: When asked what player he’s patterned his game after he says ‘growing up as a kid it would have been Kobe Bryant but nowadays he’s realistically more of a facilitator glue guy, keep the team together, score when needed. Maybe like a Draymond”

And honestly, watching this video. i see alot of similarities. Looks like a Draymon lite with more scoring ability and more of the mentality versus a Scottie Barnes, who I think lacks the mentality.

I like this guy. I think if he is asked to play the Draymond role, he’ll be good. Probably better scoring individually but you wouldn’t want that from him as primarily. I think his D looks really good but his hip mobility looks slow and his feet aren’t as choppy as I’d like, which has me a bit worried about him actually being able to contain quick shifty guards. I think a lot of that can be improved through strength training. I feel he could also use some muscle since I’m sure there’s some under that Paul Pierce fat.

One of my new Kings pick favorites.

He works in Mike Brown’s offense and I see enough defense. Get 10-15 lbs off him and he is good to go.

We pick this dude I first hear today over Leonard Miller. Is he any good?
