Collier and Holland and Dillingham desperately need good measurements.

LOL. 78 players in this combine, and Bronny James is the one name dropped. The media is absolutely pathetic.

Edit: This headline as well. :banghead:

I mean, I'm not surprised. Just disappointed.

I can see Jaylon Tyson showing out in the games and players like Ryan Dunn doing well in the Athletic tests.

You shouldn't be. It just shows how weak this draft is.

I don’t really understand the whole thing about restricting medical info in that ESPN article. Only some teams are allowed access to medical info on top prospects based on some outsourced ranking? How are teams supposed to transact in good faith on draft night if one side has premium medical info direct from the league office via the combine that other teams don’t get? Why is that a thing

I just care about the guys getting measured (height and wingspan for the most part). Here's the G-League camp. There are some good players that may end up having NBA futures (after grinding it out) in my opinion.

Walter Clayton Jr (Florida), Isaac Jones (Washington State), Jaylen Wells (Washington State), Enrique Freeman (Akron). Jarin Stevenson should go back to school, but by his junior year, he should be ready. Xavian Lee (Princeton) should also go back to school.

This year due to the new CBA or you are ineligible to be drafted. Exceptions are players in Euroleague playoffs, pregnancy or bereavement and the NBA is going to enforce on the latter two, so no faking.

I wish the would require Euros to measure at some point.

Are you ineligible to be drafted if you aren't invited? Or is it just if you decline to participate? Because limiting the entire draft pool to 78 seems kinda rough.

If you decline to participate.

Guess these were the 78 consensus whereby multiple team may have interest.

Player number 79 for example would probably really only interest 3-5 teams.

If their teams are not deep in the playoffs, they will have to come to Chicago as well. Otherwise ineligible or have to withdraw and try again next year. Can't duck measurements anymore (which we both agree is a welcomed change).

NBA seems to always add anywhere from 5-10 guys from the G-League camp to the main combine as well based on who shows out. So we should have anywhere from the 78 to 90 give or take. Which makes sense considering two rounds, 90 potential two-way slots and exhibit-10 contracts for summer league/training camp/G-League affiliation.

If you ask me, the NBA seems like a lot harder of a league to make these days. Like I can see why so many agents fight for these fringe players to get affiliated with the Miami Heat and the Sioux Falls Skyforce. They have built a legitimate pipeline to NBA rotational minutes through their development program.

Also, if you are invited to the combine and you decline to measure (height, weight, wingspan, standing reach), you are ineligible. You DO NOT have to scrimmage.

Pretty interesting that the draft lottery is so much earlier this year (Sun, May 12). It's usually during the conference finals. So I guess this is another byproduct of wanting these guys to show up to the combine. Good stuff.

i need one of the wings to show out at the combine, hoping it's Cody, but any will do, we need to get some clarity at the top and if one of these dudes has a great combine that could help out.

I *think* I remember reading that they are required to send in measurements from an NBA-approved third party, but I make no promises as to whether this is a false memory lol

Jaylen Wells has been added to the NBA combine ahead of the G-League camp. I am not surprised considering he is a 6'8 wing with potential elite shooting mechanics. Could easily see him rising to the high 2nd round with good workouts. Teams may see him as a shorter Trey Murphy.

Baye Ndongo, a guy everyone including draft "experts" seem completely clueless about, had 11-5-5 with 3 steals and 5 blocks in the G-League scrimmage today.
