I made a thread for him a few months back, but DUKE4LIFE locked it, so good luck to you on not getting this one locked.

Re: Cameron Boozer
I wont be shocked if Boozer is one of these OADs that just flat out dominates college ball and wins NPOY and all that. The dude is just so damn dominant of a player at the moment.
For him to become one of these super hyped NBA prospects like Flagg or AJ, Boozer either needs a growth spurt or athletic growth spurt.
The problem with Boozer at the moment (when I say problem, Im talking the difference of being a solid #1 pick prospect and a top tier #1 pick prospect) is he is kind of stuck in that tweener stage at the moment. He has the size of a NBA 4, but lacks the size to play the 5. But he also kind of lacks the athleticism (mainly in the first step and lateral agility) you want in a NBA 4. And he has an inside out game (his outside game is good, but he still works inside out).
With all that said, you take him top 3 (after AJ and wont be shocked if another prospect shoots up by this draft) with a smile on your face. Because he is ridiculously skilled and efficient. High level rebounder, 40% 3pt shooter (on good volume) and 80+% FT shooter already. He is also a top tier outlet passer.

How does Boozer compare to Tatum as an NBA prospect?
As a college prospect, I'm expecting stupid, Michael Beasley-like production with better defense and passing

He's kinda mid to be honest. He's going to get his 20 & 10 per game, but it will be a lot of empty stats. He's just not a modern NBA 4 superstar. Lacks too much athleticism and not really a defensive presence.

This is just describing his dad, lol.
Cam has been one of the most winning players in HS basketball history so "empty stats" feels weird to throw at him as a prospect.

LaMarcus Aldridge 2.0. I'm not as excited about him as many seem to be. He's not a franchise changing player imho.

LOL LaMarcus Aldridge is a 7-time All-Star and 3-time Top 10 MVP Candidate.
I would be ecstatic if Boozer had the career of Aldridge.

Sounds like a better version of Banchero tbh.

Re: Cameron Boozer
Boozer is the better version of Banchero who is a bigger Tatum. The problem with their archtype is that they aren't natural creators. You gotta be really damn good to get to MVP level, and I am not sure even the biggest Celtics/Magic/Duke fans sees that path for Tatum/Banchero.
Top 10 player in the league; absolutely possible. Top 3, MVP level, the path isn't that clear.

Prototypical Duke forward prospect.
Or Marvin Bagley, who also dominated in college.

the problem with that archetype, at least with Banchero, and it's why I had Jabari above him, is that they are positionally locked at the 4. unless Booz can exhibit legitimate defensive chops at either the 3 or 5, he'll likely have the same questions.
obviously he'll still be a great prospect and top 3 guy in his draft just like Paolo was tho. but Paolo in 5 years is not going to be a much different player than the Paolo you're seeing today. i will probably be saying the same thing about Booz in a few years when he's in the league.

Its probably his closest comp. But I will say that I think Paolo is bigger and his agility is on a completely different tier. But Boozer's skill set at the same age is much further ahead.
With all that said, I dont think the Boozer twins end up at Duke. I think they stay home and end up at Miami.

Reminds me of Marcus Fizer. Maybe that type of player would work in the modern NBA..but I wouldn't draft necessarily draft him over other prospects who fit more modern archetypes.
He relies alot on being able to physically intimidate and overpower defenders and that may or may not work in the NBA.

If he could be his dad with greater length and more springs, that’s a NASTY player.

If Fizer had a shot and some basketball IQ he probably would have turned into a long-term starter.
Boozer is definitely a bit of a throwback, but the defense is good, the off-ball movement is good, he isn't selfish, and I think he'll be able to shoot a bit. I also think he's still filling onto his frame and he'll get more explosive, heck, he might even grow by the time the draft comes around.
