Collin Murray-Boyles - South Carolina

Didn't see a thread. I spent a decade living in Columbia so I guess I'll be the guy haha.
It's early of course, but he looks like the only non freshman/international guy who could possibly crack the lottery. Not a three point shooter but a tough, strong scorer. The Gamecocks are gonna stink but he looks like a good one.

I had him down as a lotto guy last year if he entered, and seems to be picking up where he left off. Most likely a top 10 guy for me this year

I think there is too much talent in this draft for a 6'7 guy who averages 0.0 3PTa per game to go Top-10.

I didn't really give this guy much of a look last year because of late breakout and then he didn't declare... but what I missing here? He plays like an undersized ZBo without an outside jump shot. Also seems like the kind of guy who destroys small/bad college teams but struggles vs the blue bloods for the most part, given that is just me scrolling game logs but I fail to see off the 5 mins of highlights how this guy is successful at the next level.

Adou Thiero has shot past him easily as the best non-freshman since I made this thread.

CMB seems to be doing everything but make 3s -- career-high 35 pts today, including 11/12 from the FT line.
Aside from 3pt shooting, he's better than Grant Williams when Williams was SEC POTY.

I was curious how people viewed him. I heard about him on a Sam Venecie mock draft podcast and they had him really high. Ive just been following stats for most guys but the dude really stuffs the stat sheet as good as anyone in this class besides Flagg.

CMB back on top!
Doesn't shoot 3's, but I really like his game.

Curious how he measures, definitely would go a long way if he measures well and develops a 3pt shot but I personally like him.

He's a 6-7 off-the-dribble shot creator and elite finisher with no jumpshot. He made one off the dribble jumper from 15 ft last game. How does that work at the next level? He's a good athlete but not an elite one.
I think it's pretty well proven, you can have one non-shooter in an NBA lineup but a second non-shooter in the lineup tanks spacing and makes it really makes life tough for shot creators. Seems to me, this guy will require the perfect fit roster wise to maximize his potential.

Ya. Not sure what separates him from a Rondae Hollis-Jefferson honestly. Slightly better passing and like 8lbs of muscle?

ok this guy might be the closest thing i've seen to siakam - at least in regards to the slitherly feel extension and natural touch around the basket.
i see siakam/thaddeus young........anyone close to siakam has my attention
siakam couldn't shoot nor attempt 3s in college.........at the very least this guy could potentially be a better playmaking siakam even without the jumper. His off the dribble ability/and passing ability give him great upside
He has to at least have a mid range potential in him no ? is his mid range just that bad right now
The value people assign to connectors - this guy out of the short roll like duncan or diaw was doing for the spurs is massive. ......As a driver if he gets to the left hand with momentum he just seems automatic. He could make a career just out of that and some post moves.
Really good anticipator and reader from what i see.
Defense perhaps overated then what is touted- i saw him jump at guys early, get his feet behind him at times and give up the blow by, not high active hands, but the numbers say he is stocks which is big time

He's better than Thad was as a prospect. It's unique in that he's legit good at basketball and translates but he doesn't really fit the modern that a bad team needs and the good teams need him but they won't know they need him till they bring him in and he adjust to their squad. The issue is, some good squads might be a bad fit for him but some might be a perfect fit.

Thad was really highly regarded as a prospect. Don't think CMB is better at this stage.

Ya, Thad was for sure a better prospect. More athletic than CMB and coming out he was seen as having a 3PT shot - it just didnt develop out to the NBA 3PT line (Thad shot 39 of 93 for 42% from 3 in his single college year).
From a shot chart perspective the closest guy I can find to CMB is Hollis-Jefferson - albeit CMB has more handle / passing.

I like CMB a lot but that shot is beyond broken. Don’t think it will ever become average and don’t see a 3 ball ever coming. Teams will just leave him wide open.
Also think because of no shot and no above the rim play that he will have to play the 5 a lot ala Draymond. Have no idea how he’d hold up there. Good wingspan but he doesn’t really rim protect.

I think he's better than Thad and I was a GT fan at the time and was a fan of Thad.

He’s a much better defender than Thad.
Don’t think CMB fits the modern game well but do think he is an impact player. Really helpful if he can learn to shoot and play half his mins at the small ball 5
