Darryn Peterson

Post#1 » by TYO23 » Wed Nov 20, 2024 2:40 am

Consensus number three recruit in the senior class behind AJ and Cam. Just saw him play against the Boozer brothers and Columbus and he clearly looked like the best player on the floor.

Could he challenge AJ for the number 1 guy in the class?

once dybantsa commits to byu, basketball people everywhere will want to bump him down a notch, so yeah - i'd say that's possible. not because he's actually a better prospect, but because he's not going to kansas or unc.

don't get me wrong - i love what i've seen of peterson, but dybantsa is essentially peterson at 6'9/6'10"

I’m a big Dybantsa guy but I’m not sure he’s the defender Darryn is..

Has outplayed Dybantsa and Boozers head to head over last couple weeks.

Dybantsa is a true unicorn. I'm talking potentially being in the GOAT conversation some day if everything breaks right. Nobody is challenging him to go #1 no matter how much the media pushes that narrative. I think DP could very well go #2 though because Boozer doesn't seem like he's got the right mentality to be special. He's more of a Lamarcus Aldridge type at first glance. Things could change though. Just how I see it now.

Yeah he did outplay AJ but AJ still had a good game. I think Darryn has just been way better than the media has hyped him to be. I feel pretty candidly those are the top two guys in the 26 class.

keep in mind, dybantsa is playing against prolific prep (probably a top three HS powerhouse) while peterson is playing against utah prep (which is ONLY on the map because of Dybantsa).

pretty much every game dybantsa plays against these power schools, he's playing against significantly better players up and down the roster than the opposing stars are.

I think this is kind of unfair to use. I get he had to leave Prolific Prep cause he’s a Nike athlete and they’re an Adidas high school. But he chose to go to Utah Prep when Montverde offered him a million dollars to attend there according to his father.

DP will make it a toss up for the top spot. He’s way better than Boozer. He’s a unicorn because he’s such a dog in both ends. He’s been a phenom since he was 13.

I have AJ and DP both over Flagg and I love Flagg.

He looks like young Penny..and has an elite first step.. imo he's a game changing player and should but probably wont, but the #1 in his draft because of AJ

0 chance that he ends up better than Dybantsa in the league lol. Peterson is a pretty mid athlete and I don’t think his skills compensate for that fact

Lebron made it to the finals with that cleveland team.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Pretty mid athlete…

I won’t even debate something like that. I just hope you know that people will be laughing and laughing and laughing at this statement in the next 5 years. You still have time to edit it.
