Thomas Haugh

Post#1 » by FrightCoward » Sun Feb 23, 2025 5:39 pm

Anyone else intrigued by this guy? His numbers won’t immediately jump off the page but he’s been one of the absolute best 6th men in the country all year and has really stepped up his game further since Condon went down, averaging nearly 15 and 8 to go along with 4 APG in four games during that time as a starter. Super bouncy and athletic forward with good defensive instincts to go along with a rapidly developing offensive game where he has grown leaps and bounds throughout the year. I really think he’s the best prospect on that Florida team, IMO.

Yeah, I've been keeping tabs on him for a couple months and I'm certainly intrigued. Still not sure exactly how high I should be on him, though.

Nice leap from last year. With his size, potential veratile D, and 3PAr/FTr combo should attract interest.

Really solid prospect atm, with an ever rising stock. He's very intriguing.

Dropped 27 in the season opener last night against Arizona and was definitely the best player on the floor for the Gators. They have him at SF this year but ultimately I think his best position on the pros will be at PF. I really think he’s going to make his way into the top 20 this season, he’s the far superior prospect to Condon in almost every way.

Condon is the most overrated player in the country. He had a few hot games last season and his stock was inflated

I personally think Haugh has to be a three at the next level to succeed. Don't really see him thriving as a four.

I’m a Gator fan and I’ve never gotten the Condon hype. He’s fine for what he is, a good college basketball big, but Haugh’s pro potential is waaay higher. Hes literally better at basically everything and is significantly more athletic to boot.

A lot of his hype was based around the Alabama game last season.

Still fairly high on him. Good size, versatility and crazy motor – strong combo for a non-star NBA player.

Lol I don’t really care who his opposition was. I just found it funny that the day he copped so much criticism on here he came out and had a monster game. He’s likely to be at least serviceable and a good teammate in the NBA, as nearly all Aussie players are (minus Simmons on the teammate part). And that’s all you can ask of a likely late 1st round/early 2nd round pick.

I like Haugh. Seems a pretty versatile 3/4 that should stick in the league.
Condon seems like a possible second round steel. I am terrible at projecting bigs though.
Jordan Walsh goes top 10 in a 2023 redraft.

Hes a solid college player but theres no way he should be going in the 1st rd. Dude is 22 yr old as a junior. Florida's bigs are way overrated by national media. They were carried by their guards last season and they will be carried by their backcourt again this season.

Their backcourt has been ass so far this year, but lo and behold, Haugh just carried them to another victory with 20 and 13. Yes, he’s older, but a lot of the stuff he does well translates to the next level. He’s going to be an elite NBA 6th man.

That's the kind of reductive thinking that leads to poor draft decisions when it comes to older players.

My boy needs more love, he was the best player on the court last night. Yeah, Boozer had more points in the end, but Haugh was significantly more efficient. This dude is going to make a run at the late lotto.

Or Dalton Knecht. Or Chris Duarte (looks like he's out of the league). Countless others. Sometimes it works, but pretending age isn't a factor in evaluating the draft is an evergreen mistake people make every single cycle.

As for Haugh he's barely shooting 72% from the line in his career and his career 3pt% is 31%. What exactly are you touting here? Even his A:T ratio is barely over 1. Looks like he has a high BPM but for the life of me I can't even figure out what is driving it. Help me out brotha.

Age should be a factor, but him not being a first round pick because "dude is a 22 year old as a junior" is just lazy reasoning. He reminds me a bit of Tristan da Silva, and I'm pretty sure Orlando is happy with taking the old dude in the first round a couple years ago.
