Let's say both are in the draft this year. We don't know anything about Scoot's career, just purely how he was as a prospect.

Who goes #2 in the draft this year?

Shooting is the big gap in favor of Harper but Scoot is a better passer than Harper. Both are exceptional prospects who need a couple years to adjust. Watch for Scoot for MIP next year.

without a doubt Dylan Harper. One guy took the opportunity to quit on his team and the other returned after illness to continue playing with nothing on the line. That speaks volumes to me.

Harper is a big lead guard and might be a real star.

I'm no expert but my view of Harper is closer to Cade than Scoot. However, the person you're replying to is asking in good faith why you believe what you said, and you got needlessly hostile with him. This could have been grounds for a productive conversation. Just my 2 cents

I don’t know how anyone can compare Harper to Scoot.

Harper can’t shoot. Scoot couldn’t do anything as a rookie.

I have heard Cade get mentioned before and do wonder what people are seeing.

I get why the thread asked about Scoot. Both were supposed to be the #2 pick pre draft, both expected to be primary ball handlers, both with questionable shooting coming into the league.

Cade for me had really good vision, was able to manipulate the defense and make the right pass. He could also shoot and was able to pull up with ease.

Harper to me is quicker than Cade and more explosive getting to the basket down hill, I think his length measurements helped with a 6'10 wing span and he is really good at contorting and finishing around the rim but I do worry between the basketet and the 3pt line how he fairs, Cade not so much.

harper and it isn't hindsight. i didn't have scoot second in his draft, but i have harper 2nd by a mile in his draft. so i think i can feel confident i'd take harper. also harper is bigger and if it's close i always lean the bigger player.

Harper is 3 stratospheres better than Cade Cunningham.

I've thought about this too, re: hindsight. I think I have Harper the prospect over Scoot the prospect, though not by a massive amount. Harper just has a transformative ability to break down a defense and I think that is more valuable than the game management and transition flashes we saw from Scoot. Shooting was a weakness for both but I still feel confident both will be fine as shooters.
