2026 2nd Round Upper Classmen Perimeter Players

Post#1 » by Notanoob » Wed Jun 3, 2026 3:02 am

Every year there's a bunch of older perimeter players who've run out of time in college and become second round picks. Typically one of them will turn into a contributor, but it's often hard to say who. Which of the following guys do you think makes it and has a longish term future in the NBA?

PGs
Jaden Bradley: Solid passer and good defender but not scoring much volume. Kept Burries off ball much of the year so you know he can play.
Tamin Lipsey: Defensive beast and all-world floor general who struggles with injuries and just can't score that much.
Ja'Kobi Gillespie: Undersized gunner and pest who doesn't have the lift to threaten the basket.
Braden Smith: Obviously just too small but elite shooter and floor general.
Nick Boyd: Clutch all-around scorer who might not have the athleticism to hack it.
Milos Uzan: Seemingly good all-around player who never took the next step as a scorer.
Kylan Boswell: Tough guy with a weak jumper.
Qadir Copeland: 6'6" PG who might have finally learned to shoot as a senior.

SGs
Richie Saunders: Highly productive guard in the toughest conference who's injury derailed BYU's season.
Peter Suder: One of the stars of the sweet-heart Miami of Ohio team that went undefeated in the regular season, heady swiss army knife with no obvious holes to his game but no standout skill.
Ryan Conwell: Super high volume jump shooter who's basically just okay at everything else.
Emanuel Sharp: Well-coached 3-D guy who just can't get anything going inside the ark.
Tyler Nickel: Absolute sniper who doesn't do much else.
Otega Oweh: Athletic slasher and defensive menace with a questionable jumper.
Bruce Thornton: Strong and crafty tough-shot maker who dragged OSU to the tournament.
Aaron Nkrumah: Low Major super star, learned to shoot as a senior and picked up an absurd number of steals and rebounds. Poor finisher and terrible competition level mean you hardly trust his production to translate.

SFs
Nick Martinelli: Reliable shooter from every spot on the floor who mostly prefers to make long 2s - nothing else to his game.
Tucker DeVries: Shooter and scorer who's lacking athleticism and was limited by injuries.
Darrion Williams: Shooter who can't make a layup to save his life.
Keyshawn Hall: PF in a wing's body, a scorer who didn't guard well.
Dillon Mitchell: Temu Thompson Twin. Can't shoot even a little but can do everything else.
Bryce Hopkins: Can do a little bit of everything but without a standout NBA level skill.

The PGs are the most interesting to me + Dillon Mitchell. I can see any combination being a backup PG it's hard to predict who will pan out.

Of the seniors point guards and combo guard types, I think that Boswell, Bradley, Smith, Uzan and Boyd have no shot at having more than a cup of coffee in the NBA.

Stirtz and Saunders should be able to play, and Gillespie, Thornton, Copeland, Suder, Sharp and Lipsey have an outside chance of being playable.
