Caleb Holt, Arizona — 6' 5" Guard

Post#1 » by Caneman786 » Mon Jul 13, 2026 2:23 am

The poll above ("How high do you expect Caleb Holt to be drafted?") runs for 80 days (until September 30, 2026). Users can change their votes until then.

CALEB HOLT is a consensus five-star basketball recruit in the United States' high school class of 2026. On3 / Rivals had him as the #2 recruit in his high school class, while both ESPN and 247 Sports had him ranked #3. The RSCI Hoops consensus ranking had him as the #2 recruit in the class.

Holt has extensive experience playing for USA Basketball, where he won three gold medals at the following FIBA Tournaments: The 2023 FIBA U16 AmeriCup in Mexico, the 2024 FIBA U17 World Cup in Turkey, and the 2025 FIBA U19 World Cup in Switzerland.

In the 2025–26 season, his senior year of high school, Holt was a guard for Prolific Prep in Fort Lauderdale, FL. His most notable teammate was senior Bruce Branch III, the consensus #5 recruit in the class, who will play for Brigham Young University in 2027. Prolific Prep steamrolled its way to a 38-4 record. They won the Grind Session circuit championship in a game where Holt scored 16 points and pulled down 8 rebounds. In the Chipotle Nationals, they lost as the 4 seed to 5 seed Montverde Academy 57-55 in a game where Holt led his team in scoring and rebounding with 17 points and 9 rebounds.

In late spring 2026, Holt played in the McDonald's All-American game (where he was a starting guard for Team West, which won 102-86 against Team East) and the Nike Hoop Summit (where he started for Team USA in its 102-100 overtime victory against Team World; in this game he led his team in scoring with 24 points and played the most minutes on his team with 33 minutes played).

Holt was born on November 26, 2007 (making him four months younger than Cameron Boozer, the youngest player selected in the 2026 NBA draft). His hometown is Huntsville, Alabama. If he declared for the 2027 NBA Draft, he would be 19 years and 6 months old on draft day.

Holt signed with the University of Arizona Wildcats in the Big 12 Conference on March 10, 2026, and he will play college basketball there as a freshman in next year's 2027 season.

The University of Arizona listed him as a guard who is 6' 5" tall and who weighs 215 pounds. He wears the #3 jersey for the Wildcats.

Measurements are available (via nbadraft.net):

In early June 2024 (aged 16 years, 6 months), at the adidas Eurocamp, Holt measured 6' 5" with shoes, had a 6' 9.5" wingspan, weighed 201 pounds, and had an 8' 3.5" standing reach (to go along with a standing vert of 27.5 inches).
In mid-July 2024 (aged 16 years, 7 months), at the adidas All-American Camp, Holt measured 6' 3.25" barefoot, had a 6' 8.75" wingspan, and weighed 205 pounds.

Partial statistics for Holt at Prolific Prep in his senior year of high school are available at this link, which I found through NBADraft.net.

It does not have every game he played for Prolific Prep (which, according to MaxPreps, went 38-4 overall, and 20-0 in their district). It only has 22 games for the team, 19 of which Holt played in. Prolific Prep won all 19 of those games.

I have combined Holt's statistics in those 19 games with seven more box scores I found (games in which Prolific Prep went 4-3): City of Palms Classic game 1, City of Palms Classic game 2, National HoopFest Game1, National HoopFest Game 2, the Governor's Challenge, a HoopHall Classic game, and their Chipotle Nationals game, where they lost in the first game they played against Montverde.

Games missed list, hidden in spoiler due to embeds of YouTube videos

Spoiler:
Holt missed the two border league games played early in the season, as well as all three of the Italian games in late October (game 1 box score, game 2 box score, game 3 full YouTube video where Holt does not appear. He also missed the first game (YouTube video 1 and YouTube video 2 where Holt does not appear) and the second game (score) of the Miami HoopFest.

Apparently, Holt had a broken wrist that took him out for the first month and a half of the season, and that accounts for those 10 games that he missed for Prolific Prep early in the season. A game against Wesley Christian was forfeited (by Wesley Christian), which means that Holt played in 31 games.

In all 26 of the games for which data is available, where Prolific Prep had an overall record of 23-3, Holt had:

26.3 minutes per game (685 minutes played total)

19.6 points per game (510 points total) (leading Prolific Prep in scoring over the 26 games sampled)
7.8 rebounds per game (2.6 offensive, 5.2 defensive) (203 rebounds total, 68 being offensive and 135 being defensive)
2.8 assists per game (72 assists total)

2.5 steals per game (65 steals total)
0.3 blocks per game (7 blocks total)
2.0 turnovers per game (52 turnovers total)

+20.5 plus / minus per game (+532 total)

47.1% Field goal percentage (6.6 / 14.0 attempts per game) (172 / 365)

49.1% Two-point percentage (4.2 / 8.6 attempts per game) (110 / 224)
44.0% Three-point percentage (2.4 / 5.4 attempts per game) (62 / 141)

.386 Three-point attempt rate

80.0% Free throw percentage (4.0 / 5.0 attempts per game) (104 / 130)

.356 Free throw rate

If anyone can find the box scores of any of the other five games Holt played in his senior season, I would appreciate it! The missing ones comprise two Thanksgiving HoopFest games of late November (for which the full recordings are available online, and I have found them, but the box score was not properly recorded on the GameChanger app or exposureevents.com), the game against IMG in early February (for which the YouTube video is in the spoiler below), and two blowout victories against Summit Academy and Central Pointe Christian in early March (which Holt played in, as can be seen here and here).

I haven't watched a ton, but he strikes me as an average NBA athlete, not a very good one. I also think that standing reach seems a little small for someone who will be listed at 6-5. Either the height is a little inflated, or he is tanking the standing reach to get a higher vertical (which would make sense to me). I like his off ball stuff, I think he will shoot. I also like his physical strength.

Continuing on the statistics collected here, there is some on-off data for Holt, since every box score here includes plus / minus data:

+20.5 plus / minus per game (+532 total)

+24.9 on-court point differential per 32 minutes (over a 685 minute sample size)
+13.8 off-court point differential per 32 minutes (over a 584 minute sample size) (Prolific Prep went +251 total in minutes without Holt)

+11.1 on-off per 32 minutes

Due to the considerable amount of time that Holt missed, it's more interesting than it would be for the average high school basketball player.

Holt is listed at 6' 5" on all sources. Most sources (ESPN, On3 / Rivals, 247 Sports) say he is 200 pounds.

On Holt's University of Arizona profile, he is now listed at the guard position, being 6' 5" tall and weighing 215 pounds. He will wear the jersey number 3 for the Wildcats.

These measurements very similar to last year's Arizona freshman Brayden Burries, who was listed at 6' 4" and 205 pounds by the University, then measured in at 6' 3.75" barefoot and 215.4 pounds at the NBA draft combine. Burries only had a 6' 6" wingspan, and Holt's is already confirmed to be considerably longer.

Outside shot still isn’t there but he can get anywhere he wants on the court.
