From what I saw in the Tenn-Gonzaga game, Tyler Smith may be the most overrated player I have seen in a long while

My big question with his game is if the kid from Vandy last year (blanking on his name right now) couldn't cut it or get in the 1st rd, then how does Tyler, I don't see it

Only they don't really compliment each other. That frontcourt gets eaten alive on the defensive end.

Why anyone would prefer Jordan to Beasley - let alone taking it up a level and saying that Beasley "sucks" - is beyond me.

And yes, I know you already have Al Jefferson.

I'm happy with your Wolves choice. Beasley is a horrible fit for them - I favor Mayo as the pick, but any of Mayo, Rose, and Jordan are a better and more realistic picks than Beasley.

If Minny doesnt want Beasley, then trade down, i can think of a lot of other teams that would love him

and there is nothing more I would like then us taking michael beasley.

Take the best player available. This kid can be a superstar in the NBA and would go great with Al Jefferson down low.

I'm sick of getting cute with picks ( drafting ray allen and brandon roy ) and trading them away on draft day.

Take the BPA, clearly as of right now that player is MB.

beasley isnt the best available atm there isnt a fave theres 3 (rose,mayo and beasley)

The kid puts up double digit rebs EVERY GAME.

He averages near 30 pts and 15 rebs a game.

He's head and shoulders above jordan/rose/mayo.....

He puts up the numbers + potential. Watch him play some time, he's easily the best of those 4, i've seen plenty of each.

It's far too early to be making declarative statements about Beasley. If he keeps up the superhuman pace, it will be impossible to pass on him. But he already came down to earth once against Xavier, if he has similar pedestrian games throughout the season (and he might, given that the Big 12 competition will be harder than the cakewalk preseason he's had), he's no lock for #1. If that's the case, he's probably the worst fit for the Wolves out of all of the fab frosh.

Tennessee as a whole is greater than the sum of its parts, and that's directly attributed to Bruce Pearl and the fine job he's done. I agree; I don't see Tyler Smith as anything special at all. Same with Chris Lofton. Together, though, these guys are playing real good ball.

Richard/Jefferson/Beasley/Brewer/Foye
Richard/Jefferson/Brewer/Foye/Rose
Richard/Jefferson/Brewer/Mayo/Foye

i think if minnesota got the heat pick and foye pg abilities improved before the season end than Beasley would be a sure thing but we really need a centre not another pf or sf

if Loften was like 2-4 inches taller he would be a lottery pick

People look at Beasley's numbers and their jaws drop. He's a very very good prospect but he has A LOT of flaws that his ridiculous stat line doesn't show. He's putting up numbers very very similar to Kevin Durant did at Texas and everybody was smitten with him pre-draft. It seems only logical to do the same with Beasley.

The one thing people definitely need to be concerned about is his actual play. Beasley is absolutely ATROCIOUS on the defensive end. The guy doesn't put ANY effort in at all on that end of the floor. ZERO, ZILCH. Don't you think that raises a huge red flag given his physical ability which he uses so well to dominate on the other end of the floor? He's also a black hole on offense. In other words, if he has the ball it's not getting taken out of his hands. Most importantly, the guy has a decent team around him and he's STILL not winning games he should be. I mean losses to George Mason, Notre Dame, Xavier, and Oregon? Kevin Durant led his team to win after win along with a top national ranking, Michael Beasley isn't.

He's worthy of top 5 pick based on his capabilities, but in no way, shape, or form is he a lock for the number one or number two. A lot of valid arguments can be provided in terms of Rose and Jordan among others to be taken ahead of him.
