Hey everyone, this will be my first ever mock draft here on the Draft Board. It's early so a ton of things can happen before the NBA Draft. I think every mock draft that I do will consist of the Risers and the guys who I believe are dropping in the draft picture. Again, very early but judging from the teams that are going to be in the lottery, there are definitely some Needs on each of these teams. I will do one of these mock drafts every week and I think it'll interesting to see what you guys of think them. I'll probably only do the lottery. I'll explain my selections in 1-2 sentences. So here it is:

1. Minnesota Timberwolves: DeAndre Jordan--Think about Minnesota's core players-Rashad McCants, Randy Foye, Corey Brewer, Al Jefferson...DeAndre Jordan would fill the Center position.

2. Miami Heat: Derrick Rose--Rose is a perfect compliment to Wade. This backcourt would instantly become one of the most dynamic in the game.

3. Seattle Sonics: Eric Gordan--Gordan would be the sidekick to Kevin Durant, a daunting 1-2 punch for opposing teams.

4. Memphis Grizzlies: O.J. Mayo--Mayo would be the essential piece needed in the backcourt. This pick also gives Mike Miller his coveted sixth man role back.

5. New York Knicks: Michael Beasley--The star needed to succeed in New York. Beasley would provide the star-quality 3 they desperately need.

6. LA Clippers: Jerryd Bayless--The nice thing about this pick is that when Livingston comes back, he and Bayless would be great in the backcourt b/c Bayless has a scorer's mentality while Livingston is more of a PG at 6''7.

7. Philadelphia 76ers: Darrell Arthur--Philly is in need of a 4 and this pick would provide it. Arthur is an explosive player who brings athleticism to the 4 position.

8. Charlotte Bobcats: Patrick Patterson-- This pick provides the Bobcats with a power forward who can play alongside the defensive-minded Emeka Okafor.

9. Milwaukee Bucks: Danilo Gallinari-- The Bucks are in need of a 3. This pick would provide that.

10. Chicago Bulls: Roy Hibbert-- Low-post presence, enough said.

11. Sacramento Kings: Kevin Love--The Kings need someone w/ the skill-set to play alongside Brad Miller in the frontcourt.

12. Indiana Pacers: Chase Budinger--Provides the Paces w/ backcourt play along w/ Danny Granger and Mike Dunleavy.

13. Houston Rockets: Donte Greene--This is a guy that can play the 3 along w/ some 4 as well. Maybe a pick towards the future w/ McGrady possibly on his way out?

14. Utah Jazz: Hasheem Thabeet--The Jazz are in need of a center that can compliment Memo Okur w/ his superior defence.

Riser-- the guy who I believe is rising in the draft is Jason Thompson PF out of Rider University. Putting up big numbers along the lines of 19 ppg and 11 rpg. Yes, he is putting those #'s in a poor conference but those numers are great nonetheless. Also, Bill Walker is regaining his status a high-level talent. After his ACL tear, he lost his explosiveness but since has regained it and I believe he will be a top 15 when it's all said and done.

Plummeters-- I don't know if I spelled that right....anyways, I think the guy who is falling in the draft is Kosta Koufos. Just too inconsistent, the same can be said about Donte Green. I think that's pretty much it.

This mock is all over the place. Mayo over Beasley is just not happening.

With an aging Shaq, why would the Heat not draft Beasley and team him up with Wade to create a dynamic combo? Also, why would Memphis draft Mayo when it already has 2 good PGs in the back?

From one Singh to another, your phug is all over the place in this draft.

Please no Kevin Love on the Kings. Love+Hawes=no rings ever.

I hope you aren't a Knicks fan, because Beasley is the exact opposite of what the Knicks need.

where is Lopez, i would take Lopez over Beasley if i was the Knicks, well unless they are trying to set the record for starting 5 that all need the ball in their hand to score with.

here are some other thoughts on picks in the draft

I don't think Minny should draft the 1st pick by need either, that is just a recipe for failure. Take the best player, which Jordan is far from especially with his AMAZING performance during the 5 OT game tonight.

Miami- I could see them more taking Shaq's future replacement. By the time Shaq comes off the books, Jordan would actually be ready to be a starting center, even though i see him as a bust.

Seattle- Will probably do ANYTHING they have to do to get Derrick Rose

Memphis- BPA, which isn't Mayo even though i like him. He seems to have slipped because Tim Floyd doesn't know how to coach.

Knicks- We will suck no matter what

LA- using your explanation, I think Eric Gordon would be a perfect fit for them since he is an undersized SG. Livingston could guard the 2s which makes up for Gordon's lack of size.

Please the Bulls are not going to draft Roy Hibbert . When they already have Thomas . Wallace and Noah

no way jordan is first overall. He will probally stay another year in college, his game is not ready for the NBA. Beasley is going to be gone by pick 1 or 2.

1.Minnesota--Mike Beasley[no-brainer pick in this draft]
2. Miami--I think they want a big man here but go for the next BPA for their team Eric Gordon
3. Seattle Derrick Rose[they are not in a rush]
4 Memphis Roy Hibbert [they need someone who can go--his passing skills mesh in with what they want to do and with gasol should clog the middle]
5 Knicks Jerryd Bayless[knicsk get a PG]
6 Clippers DJ Augustin--replace Cassell and get a winner who is underrated
7. Philly Deanndre Jordan--philly wants to go athletic and they are not in a rush
8 Charlotte Brook Lopez--they get an offensive C next to Ok4
9 Milwaukee Donte Green--SF to replace Simmons
10 Chicago Hasheem Thabeet---ben wallace huge mistake
11 Sacremento Billy Walker--showing his bonafides now--remember they drafted similar player who wasnt as developed g wallace
12 Indiana Jason Thmpson--they need F size with Oneal????
13 Houston DJ White--vastly underrated and they need a 4 man
14 New Jersey--OJ Mayo BPA

A lot of resentment here about my mock draft...I like it. So based on what people have said here, Beasley is definitely going ahead of Mayo, and Mayo is too high. Also, some believe that I have put DeAndre Jordan too high and that he will not be a #1 pick, as well as guys like Kevin Love.

Let me address the Beasley pick. This was tough for me, the T-Wolves have Corey Brewer and I felt that he is a 3 and not a 2. That's Beasley's position. Now, I understand that a team like Minnesota needs to take the BPA. Well, if Jordan does enter the draft, his potential is off the charts. He might be like Andrew Bynum and take a couple of years, but I think he will get there b/c he has a good work ethic from all accounts.

Another thing, the Miami Heat have just as big a hole at PG as they do at SF. They need someone who can get D. Wade easy shots, and I think Rose would do that. Plus, the Heat have Dorell Wright and took a swingman in Dequan Cook last year. Yes, I know Cook is a 2 but hey a 3 is a lot more easier to acquire than a pure PG.

Well, for Seattle, they need someone to help out Kevin Durant, and Gordan is the best player available in terms of what they need. You know, I can see that Derrick Rose would be priority no. 1 on their list and I could see them trade up if they don't get there hands on him.

As for the Memphis pick, you take the best player available. This was a pick where I intially had Beasley, but went w/ Mayo when I factored in his supposed potential and the fact Memphis has Rudy Gay.

This brings me to New York, I am a Raptors fan. New York takes BPA which is Beasley. Now, you can say that Beasley will be the No. 1 pick. And that's fine b/c he is a definite top 5 pick. Like I said, Minny could take him. The Heat could take him. Memphis could take him. But the guys that I put ahead of him (Jordan, Rose, Gordan) have great potential. I do think that Jordan and Rose have higher potential than Beasley b/c of the positons they play. It's Beasley, Rose, Jordan, and Mayo as highest upside IMO. Gordan was a logical pick for me for Seattle.

Now, the other picks are pretty much what I expect. I factor in both upside and the teams' needs. The Kings pick of Kevin Love is possibe when you think about it. They could take Batum, Gallinari, or D.J. Augustin. In fact, the performance that Love put up vs. Oregon (26 pts 18 rebs.) solidifies my point. It's PG, SF, or PF. The PF position has been a big need for them in the past ever since Chris Webber left. Every other pick I think is pretty logical. Patrick Patterson can rise up the boards and I think he will. He's been playing really well. Darrell Arthur after spending 2 years in Kansas looks polished than ever before.

Just want to say, I like when there is resentment, b/c it tells me what you guys believe will happen. Cammo's board is pretty much in agreement w/ Draftexpress and NBADraft.net. I'm just telling you what I think will happen. Every player that I mentioned can go in the range where I positioned them.

Using your opinions, I will create another Mock next week.

if the Knicks take Beasley, i think i will have to greenlit the GM because Beasley is the exact opposite of what the Knicks need. THey have enough scorers that aren't smart enough to spell defense let alone do it.

I have no problem with Jordan being too high. The biggest problems were Mayo too high, Beasley too low and a general disregard for team needs.

Seattle needs a point guard or a amazing big man from the draft.

So thats Derrick Rose and Micheal Beasley.

Unless Seattle plans to start 5 6'9'' forwards, they may want to give a lot more consideration to DeAndre Jordan.

seattle needs rose or jordan, not beasley

durant and green are the future at the forwards spot

the guy Durant really wants is Augustin. lol
