Watching him play the other day he looked really small and hes not really a point guard on the next level. He's only 6'4, how many great 6'4 shooting guards have there been? Is he really worth a top 4 pick?

His athleticism makes up for his size and yes he is really worth of a top 4 pick. He is probably already the best catch and shooter in college with very deep range and a lighting quick release. He gets to the line a lot and makes his free throws (85%). He is quick enough to guard PG's and strong enough to guard SG's. EJ is a bit injury prone though, needs to tune up on his ball handling, and work on his in between game.

What's Gordon's true height? I've seen everything from 6'2" to 6'5".

He'll most likely measure out at about 6'4" in shoes.

DWade is not much taller than Gordon. He actually reminds me of Ben Gordon with better defense. He will be a SG in the NBA.

A bigger, more athletic Ben Gordon with better D is a good comparison. I think he would be perfect next to Wade.

I don't think he is more athletic then BG just stronget!

You do know that strength is a part of being athletic, right?

Eric Gordon just seems like a natural basketball player, a guy with basketball in his blood, in his fiber, in his essence. Things seem so easy for him. Fluid, fluid player. Definitely worth a top 4 pick IMHO.

he really does remind me of the other Gorden, he does strike me as more explosive attack the basket then ive seen out of Ben.

Eric Gordon is MUCH better at attacking the basket with a purpose. Ben Gordon it seems attacks the basket almost like he has to, but Eric attacks it to get either contact or points. And 6'4 is plenty big to play the 2 in the NBA. Small yes, but definitely enough size to get shots off if you have enough speed to do it.

EJ had to play in a hostile environment today, Illinois was very aggressive in the 1st half only allowing him to score 1 point

He managed to turn things around in the 2nd half making some big 3's, finding his teammates, and getting to the free throw line

In OT though he disappeared a bit but came up big in the 2nd OT when he made a big play on defense forcing a turnover after committing a half court violation

That game showed me that he has heart because I seriously thought he was shutdown for the evening

God would I love him on the Warriors

Gordon from my perspective, an IU season ticket holder, is one year from being truly ready. I watch every home game in person.

1. He lacks discipline on both ends. His shot selection is suspect
2. Often gets too emotional and his game suffers because of it
3. Too aggressive on defense and gets in foul trouble early and often
4. He has the quickest first step I've seen in a while and his range extends beyond nba
5. He is 6'3 in shoes

Eric Gordon looked overwhelmed and like he would cry at any minute. He was ok in the 2nd half but nothing too special. At least he attacked the basket. He got bailed out by making a garbage 3, and on no calls on huge fouls and travels in OT. He also made a bonehead play on the 10 second call. Gordon is very talented, but last night surely did not help his draft stock. Though it was sort of an odd game.

the refs were terrible for both teams last night, lol.

yeah that 10 second turnover was dumb, but he made up for it by forcing a turnover right after that.

honestly college bball is not good for players like gordon, rose, and mayo. i swear, there is no spacing at all in college. its so crowded and these guys don't have a lot of room to operate imo.

edit: if Rose is 6'4, then Gordon is 6'6. gordon is two inches taller than rose looking at a picture of them standing next to each other

I've heard Gordon is closer to 6'5'' than 6'4'' which helps in the shooting guard department.

Gordon is 6''4 rose cant be a inch over 6''3 cause i saw him at abcd and im taller then him but shorter then mayo who is a legit 6''5 with snearkers on

It didn't hurt it either, he could've just easily remained shutdown for the rest of the game but he turned it on and gave IU something

He did look sacred out there though and it did help that the player that was swarming him on defense sprained his ankle

The freshmen for Illinois definitely out played him
