Who will be next years Diaper Dandies?

Post#1 » by Manhattan Project » Sun Feb 24, 2008 8:24 pm

In 2007 we saw the likes of Greg Oden, Kevin Durant and Thaddeus Young generating a lot of buzz before the season started. This year we see Michael Beasley, Derrick Rose and OJ Mayo among others. My question is, who ARE YOUR diaper dandies next year that will be one and done?
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

BJ Mullens and Aminu are one and done as well. Mullens will most likely be the #1 pick. Devin Ebanks is very similar to Durant. He may go somewhere else though due to Sampson leaving. This class is better than the one this year. DeRozen is freakishly athletic.

I highly doubt that Aminu will be leaving Wake since they will be stacked for the next couple of years, and 08's class is not better than 07's. There are a ton of freshman this year thats not getting the hype they should be.

Jrue Holliday and Samardo Samuels are the best players IMHO of the 2008 class.

I would rank my top twenty in terms of impact (not NBA potential):

1. Jrue Holliday-UCLA
2. Samardo Samuels-Louisville
3. Demar DeRozan-USC
4. Tyreke Evans-Undecided
5. Al-Farouq Aminu-Wake Forest
6. Greg Monroe-Georgetown
7. BJ Mullens-Ohio State
8. Devin Ebanks-Indiana
9. Brandon Jennings-Arizona
10. Delvon Roe-Michigan State
11. Scotty Hopson-Undecided
12. Ed Davis-UNC
13. Elliot Williams-Duke
14. William Buford-Undecided
15. Tony Woods-Wake Forest
16. Luke Babbit-Nevada
17. Tyler Zeller-UNC
18. Malcolm Lee-UCLA
19. Deandre Liggins-Kentucky
20. Kemba Walker-UConn

The 2009 class IMHO will be one of the best ever. The top 10 of the 2009 class would be top 5 in just about any other class. Any class where it is possible that Lance Stephenson is the 5 or 6 best player is a very strong class.

Watch out for these Illinois players next year

*D.Liggens- Kentucky
*Mike Dunnigan- Oregon
*Iman Shumpert (Georgia Tech)
Lewis Jackson - Purdue
Matt humphrey- Oregon
Matt Roth- Indiana ( dont know if hell stay)
Kevin Dillard- Southern Illinois
Mike Dinnuno- Northern Illinois
Aj Rompza- Central Florida
Dion Dixon- Uncommited

*Mcdonalds All-American player*

There are 20-25 other D-1 players in the class of 2008 for Illinois, but I feel these players are the best.

BJ Mullens is too ugly to be considered a diaper dandy. His picture on nbadraft.net makes me thinks he's a pedophile.

i think this class is top heavy. it's weak overall.

derozan, holiday and samuels will be diaper dandies.

monroe will be surprisingly raw.

LOL at only two of those guys going to school in Illinois. Bruce Weber needs to step his game up.

Thanks again for Dunigan and Humphrey. Dunigan will be insane and Humphrey should fill Bryce Taylor's shoes without trouble.

Monroe is a great athlete but raw and will need a few years to develop. Unlike some other #1 overall recruits in recent years, he won't take the country by storm ala Durant or Beasely, especially in GU's slow it down system.

I think Samardois a beast and will be a great NBA PF. DeRozan is one and done as well I think.

If by great you meant average then yes.....seriously, when I saw him in portland last summer, I was pretty disappointed....he clearly had been trying to add upper strength and this made him top heavy and he moved like a 40 yr old, not as bad as Fazekas but in the ball park...

DeRozan...Aminu...Samuels

These three are players, DeRozan is a GM life changer IMO

There has been a hell of a lot of talk in my neck of the woods about Weber's inability to grab the top recruits. He has let 6 McDonald's All-American players in the last three years go.

Weber has IN FACT landed 3 guards from Illinois from the class of 09. D.J. Richardson, Brandon Paul, and Joseph Bertrand. The funny thing to me is that I do not even believe they are the top guards in Illinois from the class of 09. Brandon Paul is definitely the #1 player in Illinois next year, but Chris Colvin, Darius Smith, and Diamond Taylor ( Just commited to Wisconsin a couple days ago) are all better than Bertrand and Richardson. Better all-around game. Colvin is actually top 40 in the nation, but his name is rarely mentioned. Maybe because he has had some character issues. I know the guy, he is cool except to referees. lol But he has mad game. I'd recommend him to any college coach in the nation. Look him up.

Monroe looked like garbage in the one game I saw.

Beasley has hinted at staying and on ESPN News they mentioned some USC player hinting at coming back another year so it either had to be Jefferson or Mayo.
