Another favorite of mine.....would take him in the 11-13 range in this draft (I know I'm alone there)

Seems like he's a tweener. And for someone who has a rep for being a talented warrior and a hustler, he's been pretty inconsistent with his productivity. Maybe Pittsnoggle should go over there and teach him to shoot 3's.

Still learning some aspects of the game and also Huggy Bear is tough on him because he sees the potential for something special

Also, I will say that he needs to get tougher at the rim on both ends of the floor

But I really like ths kid and stand by my placement of him; however he best served by staying with Huggy one more year to get stronger both physically and mentally

And not a tweener at all......all SF

Are you trying to imply that because he's white, he's not athletic enough to defend 3's? I'd advise you to watch him a little more closely before you make that assumption, as he's definitely not short on athleticism. While this picture doesn't fully encompass his athletic abilities, which obviously aren't solely limited to vertical explosiveness, it should make you at least second guess that position in regards to his lack of athleticism, if that's indeed what you were implying.

He is a serious player with GREAT athleticism. In fact, I'd place him as one of the most athletic players in the Big East. He is still learning all of the facets of the game.

I agree with a previous poster in that he should stay at WVU for another year of coaching under Huggins to maximize his potential.

Joe is on ESPN right now again vs UConn. He's got 13 at the half.

Check him out if you haven't seen much of him.

Jay Bilas just said it perfectly, "Wow!"

This kid has serious NBA potential. He needs some more intensity on the boards and needs to be be a little less lazy on his passes.

A serious offensive threat though.

You're "jumping" to a conclusion there. I know he can jump, but what I was cleverly asking is if he's laterally quick enough to cover NBA 3's - as he is a bit heavy for a 3 his age.

I don't think he's heavy at all. The guy's frame is pretty prototypical for an NBA small forward actually.

6'8 and 230lbs is overweight? That seems pretty perfect to me.

No....he is suggesting that Joe is heavy footed......but it is my opinion that he is not at all "heavy" in any way

This is the same guy I saw smash on someone while I was trying to watch someone else.

He definitely does not lack athleticism.

Yeah, you don't see many 230 lb college 3's - which is why I asked about his lateral quickness. Speaking of which, Aran Smith recently gave his scouting report on Joe and touched on the subject:
His lateral speed is just average for a NBA small forward, hurting him a slight degree defensively.
So, he acknowledges it's a concern - but probably not a big problem.

While it is average, it is not cause for concern IMO....plays slightly too vertical on D and a simple tweak in that regard could help and continued strength training as well

His game kind of reminds me of Caron Butler in that he doesnt have a great first step, but his mid range game is awesome and he is an explosive leaper. I don't know if his rebounding, toughness, and passing ability are on the same level as Caron's though.

Alexander is known as a bit of a 'head case' in the regard that if his shot isn't falling, it mentally affects the rest of his game and his defense suffers because of it.
