Why would you give up on going in a top 5 spot? It doesnt make sense. Im sure hes dissapointed right now in losing so early, but when the time comes to declare and he sees the money potential with a top 5 pick, I think he'll go

He'll never improve his draft stock from where it currenlty is.

If he doesn't stay in the draft, he's crazy. All it takes is one little knee injury and his NBA dream could be over.

It's pretty standard for these kids to say the "right thing" and that they are coming back. Didn't Mayo do the same?

Does he think he can raise his stock playing SG next to Jennings next year?

The source of this is coming from the McDonalds all-star game when one of the AZ recruits (Jennings I think) said Bayless told him he was coming back or something.

I don't buy it though, things like this always seem to pop up and are untrue.

Don't listen to what anybody says right now... Wait till the final day when you have a chance to pull your name out.

Think of Hibbert. He was going to be a pretty high pick last year. This year he'll be lucky to go top 15.

Or, he could blow his knee out and his chances at being drafted.

Better the devil you know.

Exactly. If you are a lotto pick you make the jump. Period. Chris Marcus was a lotto pick, he went back to school, hurt himself, and is probably bagging groceries at a Target right now.

What about that guy that had the huge afro that played at Auburn 7 or 8 years ago? I remember, as a Junior, they were saying he might be the top pick. He came back, had a terrible year and injuries, and I never even heard his name again. Not even sure he got drafted.

He was a 7 footer from Western Kentucky (I think) who had a great junior year, would have been a top 10 pick, went back to school, got hurt, and is now nowhere to be seen.

From Staff Reports

If he would stay one more year in college brandon jennings would hurt the draft stock of bayless, being a 2 guard with that team when jennings comes would lessen his stock due to being an undesized 2 guard...

Yea, he's not going to be able to work on his PG skills with Jennings there.

Once again most posters show their age when talking about basketball prospects.

You do realize that Arizona employs a guard system. There is no "point guard."

Examples: Damon Stoudamire, Khalid Reeves, Reggie Geary in 93-94. All of these guys played in the NBA and were point guards on the pro level.

Jason Terry and Mike Bibby, both played together at times and who was the point guard was irrelevant.

Jason Gardner and Gilbert Arenas. Both guys shared the ballhandling duties and Arenas plays the 1 in the league.

Bayless and Jennings will both have the same opportunities to explore mismatches and find people. He lead Arizona in assists this year anyway. Jennings will only make it easier because it's another guy to pass to who can finish.

Point guard is the only position in basketball where maturity is a must and I don't think any NBA team should hand the reins to a 19 year old. The only person ready for that in the last 15 years was Marbury.
