Possible Big Man for the Jazz

Hey all,
I was wondering what your opinion would be on a possible big man available for the Jazz around 24+. In my opinion we ABSOLUTELY need some athletic bigs who can run around and play some D (especially shot blocking). From most of the mocks I see I notice R.Lopez and Thabet (sp?) being gone who I both really like. Who is still available in this range who isn't a slow stiff. Thanks

McGee, White, Hardin, Ibaka, Jawai and there are some guys who could drop there but probably won't declare if their stock is that low like Speights, Arthur, even Randolph.

Robin Lopez would give you an athletic big man that can run around and play D (and block some shots). Would probably be the best fit IMHO. Something along the lines of a more stable version of Sideshow Bob of the Cavs.
Thabeet might be interesting but I don't know that he necessarily is the right fit for a team coached by Jerry Sloan who probably expects a little more readiness then maybe Thabeet (who will make a lot of mistakes early on in his career) can give them.
Thabeet has the higher upside but I think Thabeet would be better elsewhere. Also, I doubt, because of the upside, that he'll be around at no. 24.
Devon Hardin, Joey Dorsey, one of the Maryland forwards (i.e. guys that have played a lot of college ball and that has been on successful teams in the same exact kind of roles as the Jazz would be asking of them) might also be nice fits at the bottom of the 1st. If some toughness mixed in with athleticim, intensity and shotblocking off the bench is what you're looking for they would/could all fit.
Serge Ibaka an atletic freak wouldn't be a fit, again, for the same reasons why Thabeet wouldn't be only multiplied several times over.

If Earl Clark comes out, he'd be a perfect fit.

Lopez, McGee, and Thabeet will be gone by the time Utah picks.
Hardin should be available, but he played like crap this year, and its not like he's inexperienced in the college game, he's coming out after all four years at Cal. But since I'm guessing you're looking for an athletic, defensive center to eventually take over for Okur, Devon might be worth the minimal risk of a late 1st, since he still is a great ahtlete at nearly 7 ft.

Robin Lopez *might* be around. He'd be perfect, from skill to skin tone.

You already have Fesenko as a center prospect. I'd go for a young PF with a little size & toughness for your team. Someone who has played a few years in college. DJ White sounds perfect to me.

They already have Paul Millsap.
He's undersized, but he brings toughness and interior defense to their team.
What about a backup PG/backup SF?
The Jazz are definitely primed for a championship run.

They also already have Fesenko; I don't see Utah drafting big unless it's explicitly to send him to the NBDL.

I think moocow007 nailed it if the Jazz go for a center. They have a history of drafting centers and big bodies from Stanford. (Collins, Borchardt, and O'keefe were all drafted by Utah out of Stanford).

Really? Is it true the Jazz hate black people?

All I'm saying is, they tend to go out of their way to sign/draft/trade-for lighter-toned players. (Ridiculous extension for) AK, (Huge contract for) Boozer, Okur, (trading up for) Williams, Almond, Price... And this is just recently. It's not a coincidence.

You honestly believe the Jazz take skin colour into account when putting their team together? They get the best possible players, regardless of skin tone. I can't figure out whether you're a racist, or just stupid.

In 2006 the Jazz used their 3 picks to draft Ronnie Brewer, Dee Brown and Paul Millsap, pretty clearly showing they have no bias against dark skinned players. They have drafted/signed a slightly disproportionate number of fairer skinned players simply because they happened to be the best players they thought they could draft/sign.

The Raptors are a whiter team than the Jazz, but Toronto is one of the most multicultural cities in the world.

They've only been "whiter" since Colangelo, not having changed owners or anything. There isn't a big enough sample size for them yet.
But the Jazz have been this way for around 2 decades.
