I don't follow college basketball very closely, and I apologize if this has been mentioned before. However, I have heard that Rose's performance in the tournament may have boosted him into a position where picking he or Beasley first might be a question for whoever gets the top pick.

So my question is: Which teams of MIA, SEA, MIN, NYK, MEM, LAC, or "other" would pick Rose if they got the first pick? Who'd pick Beasley?

ROSE: ???, ???, ???
BEASLEY: ???, ???, ???

Bobcats = Beasley

I think a lot (if not most) of teams could go either way but this is where I'd see each of the top 6 teams leaning:

Beasley - MIA, MEM, LAC
Rose - SEA, NYK, MIN

Most should draft Rose.
Memphis and Clippers, if they're confident in Brand should stay with Beasley.

Memphis is most in need of Beasley.
Seattle is most in need of Rose.

Am I missing something?

Why is a team with a current PG rotation of Brevin Knight, Dan Dickau, and Smush Parker, whose "franchise" PG plays an average of 36 games a year, not taking Rose?

Agreed. That made no sense to me. They do have Brand, Kamen, Tim Thomas, and Al Thorton who can play PF/C.

Beasley: MIA, MEM, MIN, CHA, CHI, NJN, SAC, GSW

I pretty much agree with this list. Minnesota could easily go Rose though. They kind of need both.

Actually I forgot about Mo Williams on my original list, so I'd probably put Milwaukee in the Beasley camp.

Mo Williams isn't really a starting PG though. He's like Jamal Crawford, better as a combo guard and 1st option off the bench. The 3 players that they have that they should probably be considering building upon are Bogut, Yi and Villanueva, the later of whom are both PF's.

I guess it depends on whether they see Beasley as a PF or a big SF.

The Bucks would most definately take Rose. Mo is on the outs and has been losing time to Sessions.
I hope the Bucks are lucky enough to have to make the decision.

Mo is more like a small 2. Probably better as a scoring punch off the bench. While Rose is a scoring 1....he is w/o question a 1 with high leaderships skills. If Beast could ever play the 3, MKE would think about him. But we need more than some scoring. With that said...

Toronto would take Rose, then trade Calderon, and Ford. Beasly +Bosh no good. God I wish we had a high pick like Rose instead of Bargnani, lol.

Knicks: Rose
Heat: 50/50 they could go either way
Wolves: Rose, but with McHale who knows?
Sonics: Beasley, I know a lot of people will say Rose but I think they want to run the offense through Durant to get the most out of him and Beasley could really thrive playing off him.
Grizzlies: Beasley
Clippers: Rose
Bucks: Beasley, I'd take Rose here but I think they are stuck with Mo Williams because of the contract.
Bobcats: Beasley, for some reason they still seam to love Felton's future from everything I hear.
Bulls: Beasley, The young PF's are easier to move out of town to make room then Hinrich.
Nets: Beasley
Pacers: Rose
Kings: Beasley, 50/50 here both posistions are needs but PF is the bigger problem and provides the more immediate impact.
Blazers: Rose, lets all pray this never happens.
Warriors: Beasley

Heat would most definitely take Beasley.

It makes an absurd amount of more sense than Rose for them.

They need a shooting PG, not a 6'4/6'5 quick like playmaker similar to DWadei n the backfield.

If they need another big time player on the team it's in the post.


Haslem is great and all but he can kick rocks if the Heat won the lottery

the sonics would definately take rose given the chance. We already drafted 2 SF/PF's last year and have wilcox and collison at the 4 aswell. There's no chance we'd turn up rose.

I really dont think Beasley is a slam dunk pick at all for Miami. A Wade/Rose backcourt would be insanely scary for opposing teams. Franchise point guards are harder to come by than franchise forwards. Thats just the way it is. Plus, the Heat's current PG situation is abysmal, and free agency doesnt pose a ton of sparkling options for them. They still have an underrated Udonis Haslem at the 4 and Marion at the 3, so I dont think choosing Beasley makes "an absurd amount of more sense" than choosing D-Rose.

Rose/Wade would be scary. Just pack it in against them...scary for Miami.

A Wade/Beasley pick and roll would be lethal.
