nbadraft.net's new mock 4-21

What is wrong with their mocks this year?? Their new version has No Joe Alexander, No Marresse Speights, No Kosta Koufas. On top of that they have Davon Jefferson being picked even though he said he is going back to USC. Why the craziness?

I remind anyone whoever brings up nbadraft.net that they had Rick Rickert as a top 3 prospect on their board a few years back....TOP 3...
Seems like they just randomly throw names on there, and then as draft approaches, their mock's start looking at any other expert sites...only not as good.
Have to hand it to them, though...their layout is by far the best out of every site I've been to in the past 8 or so years.
It's a decent site, but I can't stand how many people seem to think what they say matters alot, because it honestly doesn't from what I can tell.

actually davon jefferson recently said that hes entering his name in the draft, but i agree their mock isn't the greatest

Their draft usually gets pretty accurate when it gets closer to draft time though.

I think they take a lot of crap for stuff like Rickert and the way they handle player comparisons (they base them on the kind of pro player the prospect resembles literally-- Ie: playing style-- and not on the impact expected). The most famous example of this is Deshawn Stevenson resembling MJ.
I think they deserve a lot of credit though for some of their international finds over the years and their scouting of high school basketball. They were high on a lot of high school talent that ended up becoming superstars and helped "expose" a lot of international talent. They've also been right plenty of times about underrated collegiate talent. For the most part, they've given all of this information away for free sometimes YEARS in advance of the actual draft, so yeah... they're going to make plenty of mistakes.
Scouting isn't an exact science. These are strictly guesses based on a great many factors but I think when you consider all that they've done and all of the players they've exposed and were right about... they'd actually come out positive versus all the bombs they were wrong about. I know draft express was(is?) somewhat affiliated with RealGM but I think nbadraft.net does deserve more credit than they're usually given online.

I like NBAdraft.net for it's breakdown of the players. I can read up on their strengths and weaknesses without digging through 300 drawn out articles from draftexpress. I don't live or die by any one mock, but I like to browse through many to get as much information, from many different avenues, as quickly as possible.

Ditto...I agree. DX can be jungle of info to filter through sometimes.

I prefer NBAdraft.net
Less critical of the players, generally a more positive and less snooty vibe, much better player summaries, easier and quicker website, less boring articles, some outstanding finds over the years (Michael Beasley as a 13 year old comes to mind), concentrates on college, international and high school not NBDL.
And, you want to know the biggest reason of all why I prefer NBAdraft.net to Draftexpress.com

Oh I've learned that before.
I'm sure nobody cares if I admit to liking NBAdraft.net and pointing out it's positives though. I'm not meaning to bash any other websites. I'm just praising the one that I enjoy the most.

I agree with you. I also read many mock drafts and most of the so-called experts get only about half of the draft right anyway. NBAdraft.net does a good job like you said. No matter how much that you know about basketball, no one can get everything right. Also we have to wait until after the lottery to really start to try and figure out who will take which players based on the team's needs.
