Who do the Bulls and Heat end up taking at 1 and 2, respectively?

See this is how I feel

The Bulls organization will be pressured to take Rose because he's a hometown kid and all the fans will want him. But saying that, they have lacked a true post presence for years and you aren't going to get a better player to fall in your lap in the post.

I could see it going either way, but I eventually seeing the Bulls leaning towards and taking Beasley, because he's the post presence they have been missing.

For the Heat, easy. They take the player out of Rose and Beasley that's left, after the Bulls pick.

Bulls are already pretty loaded with young 3s and 4s:
- Luol Deng is 23
- Tyrus Thomas is 21
- Joakim Noah is 23
- Drew Gooden is 26
- Andres Nocioni is 28

Add in the fact that Hinrich is really not working out in Chi-town, and I feel pretty confident they'll take Rose. Also, the Bulls have a hard-on for defensive players, and Rose plays great d, while Beasley plays terrible d.

The Heat are in a win-win. We take whoever's left over, and we'll find a way to make him fit.

Rose/Wade or Wade/Beasley; they both will cause match-up problems for opponents.

As a bulls fan, I say Rose all the way.

Although, I won't be sad with Beasley either - it's just a free gift.

People said Paul couldn't shoot coming out of WF, look at him now.

It's a hard call as a Bulls fan, because I'd love to finally have a post presence like Beasley but I think Rose is the better player overall, and great point guards are hard to come by as well. If I were Paxson, I'd draft Rose if I could find a decent deal for Kirk Hinrich, and if I couldn't I'd probably take Beasley. If I do decide to take Beasley though I swap with Miami and take Beasley at #2 (as Miami wants Rose) and get some compensation, no matter how small, for the switch.

I think either team would be crazy to trade the pics at either #1 or #2 as these guys are both gonna be pros.

Beasley can immediately improve Chicago. He will be able to score and might take them back to the playoffs. Rose has more potential, but the Bulls would have to gut their roster with him and wouldn't be as competitive early on.

It really depends on what direction Paxson wants to take Chicago. The Bulls need to trim their roster anyway, they have too many players that need minutes. I'd love to see a Rose/Thabo backcourt though. They would create so many mismatches with their size.

But it'd be a non-issue if Paxson hadn't **** up and traded Aldridge.

lol He shot 47% from 3 in college..i dont know who said that but for those who said it they just didnt watch Paul in college.

Now Roses shot is a legit concern, he shot 33% which is average..and most were on open shots since he rarely forces shots. So its not even close to the same case as Paul

As his shot not being a decent one, not necessarily that he can't shoot.

I still vividly remember the draft, and when his player profile came up, one of the weaknesses Ford mentioned was his jumper, and something he needs to improve upon. -- Well, low and behold, he's done that and was 2 mins shy of leading his team to the WCFs.

He doesn't need to be a great shooter to be a great pg. Dwade and parker can't shoot, yet no one can stop them from getting to the rim. I see Rose in the same mold.

I think Rose's court vision is the thing more overrated about him than anything else. I don't think he is a Chris Paul/Deron Williams type of passer.

Wade and Parker both have an excellent mid-range game though. I don't really know if Rose has that.

:dontknow: That's what I remember hearing, maybe I heard wrong.

Pat Riley got a blessing in disguise IMO...his whole draft strategy now becomes "draft the other guy."

I think the Bulls will take Rose but Beasley will end up being the better player.
