What are people's thoughts on Donte Greene?

DX has him compared to Rashard Lewis or Dermarr Johnson.

NBAdraft.net has him as Lewis/Marvin Wiliams

I didn't see him play at Syracuse and have only seen limited youtube game film... he seemed to dominate mostly because of his size and athleticism, lacking the skill to get to the basket and thus settling for jumpers.

But what do others think about him? How does he project in the pros?

Plays zero defense and lacks a great understanding of the game as a whole

IMO a strong candidate to spend some time in the D-league his first couple seasons

Not much of a freshman season for a highly ranked player (#8 in the ranking I looked at). Of course last year I would have said the same about Thad Young who was #6 the year before in the same ranking. Low risk & high reward for a team picking in the teens.

Seconded. He is going to be in the D league for his first season.

Greene has the raw potential to be a great player in the NBA. He is the type of big man guard that has reigned supreme in this generation of basketball. Following in the footsteps of KG and others, Greene has a beautiful stroke from the perimeter. However, he is physically underdeveloped. Also, he is not aggressive attacking the basket. Late in the season, he demonstrated a nice fadaway post up game, but he is not going to be able to establish post position in the league in his current body.
