Serge Ibaka: #1 in this draft over Blake Griffin.

Imagine if this cat had played the last 2 years in D-1 instead of overseas. He would easily be this year's #1 pick. Compared to Griffin, he is taller, with longer arms, has a bigger frame, and has comparable athleticism. He would've put up monster numbers at the American collegiate level.
Enjoy.

What were Ibaka's stats this year in Spain?

http://www.eurobasket.com/player.asp?Cntry=ESP&PlayerID=1101217 points, 4.5 boards in 15 minutes per game. Not too shabby.
Did I mention he is younger than Blake Griffin?

He's looking a lot thicker these days.
This is the first video I have seen that was 2009.
Looked like he had a monster game against Rubio's team.
I don't know if I can say he'd be the #1 pick over Blake Griffin but I do think this kid has a chance to be the best rookie on the Thunder this year.

He has an excellent NBA body, is very athletic and seems like he knows how to play basketball. Sounds like a pretty great combination of attributes for a prospect. He seems like he could be a Shawn Kemp-type player.
I don't know about saying he'd be #1 in the draft though.

Blake Griffin proved himself in the NCAAs
He's also not nearly as thin as Ibaka
LOL at all the obsession over length
And younger than Griffin? He's a whopping 6 months younger than Blake

Averaged at 30 mpg, Ibaka averaged a double double at the HIGH PROFESSIONAL level. He would've destroyed collegiate defenses.
Ibaka has more potential than "Stubby Arms" Griffin, no doubt.

Fully Agree.

Stubby armed Griffin LOL.
How did those stubs for arms allow Griffin to have the first 20/14 season in the NCAAs since Tim Duncan?
How did they allow him to be in a category with West and David Robinson for double doubles in a season?
How did they allow him to be in a category with Hakeem and Bird for rebounds in a season in the last 30 years?
But go ahead and put all the hype in length. I guess you think Thabeet is a better prospect than Griffin too

Yes, I would rather my team take a chance on Thabeet than on drafting Boozer-lite.
Anyway, Ibaka will be a better pro than Griffin. Mark it down.

did you even watch Blake Griffin play in the NCAA tourney, when it was do or die time? He shot 80% from the field and was unstoppable on offense. All over the glass. Ibaka is a real nice prospect but lets be realistic, euro league stats hardly translate. If they did, Euros wouldn't have such a high bust rate when they come over here.

Did I mention that Ibaka is 19? He would've looked more dominant than Griffin against the relatively pathetic D-1 level of competition.
In a game where he got decent minutes against Rubio's squad, Ibaka put up 16 pts and 15 boards.

And you'll find conservatively about 47 million people who think Griffin will be better, and with good reason. So you can mark me down for "Griffin will be better" and we can revisit it in the future.

Offensively Griffin is miles ahead of Ibaka. Defensively Ibaka is better however. Griffin is just more polished then Serge. athletically their similar Griffin knows how to score at the collegiate level with easy and probably will learn to do the same at the nba level. Ibaka has yet to prove he can score consistently anywhere.

See that's where you're 100% wrong!

Ibaka scores with the ladies all the time!

What with his long arms, stifling defense, and 18-foot jumper and all?

But is Serge going to come over and start playing for OKC any time soon? My guess is not for 2 more years, till his contract expires. No info is available on his buyout but I'd guess it's huge.

Blake might be better now, don't know if I would call them similar athletically though.
