Whiteside was cut from the Lebanese basketball league last year.

He was not even role player quality before three weeks ago.

I don't trust him. He has a look in his eye that screams not all there.

I would never pay him big money over more than two years. He's been humbled, but he's not really "there" yet.

Because he's not all there. There were major maturity concerns going into the draft, and from what I've seen from him now, I see no reason to have those same concerns alleviated.

The unique thing is that it seems sustainable if he keeps his head cool. We've had Flip Murray and Jeremy Lin, but barring a mental breakdown (possible), I don't see why Whiteside can't keep this up.
