Ok

Keldon great man D pressure for the Hunter miss.

And then deft play to hunt after the ball and Mitch quickly calls timeout.

Heart smarts and hustle.

4TH Q: SPURS 133 HAWKS 126

Hard fought, well earned W, which again counts as a double W!

CP3. Clutch.

Wemby. Clutch.

Go ahead and piss them off. Go right ahead lmao.

Lots of missed bunnies and gummies both ways but we pulled through. We didn't have this wherewithal in us last season and this season, with quality key vets and with another season of experience under our belts and with a full team - well, not quite, we're still waiting on Pop - we pull through for our first OT victory.

Wemby led us with 42-6-5-4 blocks, 2 steals. One block away from a 4x5. WOW. At one point he was on a 10-point one-man run. Not perfect, but all heart and passion and channeling his immense gifts at the right time.

Didn't love some of the shot selection, clock management vs. coming through as the man is a challenge. Then again, if an early 3 presents itself... so I get the temptation.

Good to great in all facets of the game is the true challenger. We were in scramble mode a lot but found ways to get it done.

A tip here, a fall for the ball there, a step up to prevent a drive and an extra pass and score. Just a gutting it out W.

It's not always pretty, but finding ways to come from behind, not get down when we lose leads, figuring out how to get them back wmd keep them is crucial for us.

CP3 bookended our comeback with his first and last points. That last 3 vs. a C on him was one of those criticize when you miss, praise when you make it hutzpah shots and yet he showed a will to win and a pair of brass balls behind it that our guys push full force behind. 12 points (on perfect shooting), 7 boards, 8 assists, 4 steals. 39 years old. TIMELESS. AGELESS. WILL. TO. WIN.

Dev as starter worked well contributing 23 on excellent 9-16, 5-7 from 3, 4 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals in team high 38 minutes. Clutch poised presence and shooting. Really impressed with Castle this season, but with Dev back as starter it feels like some order and balance has been restored.

Barnes struggled with efficiency but he took full advantage of 50/50 balls and swooped in for quick put backs and +1s, making the most of hounding the ball.

Sochan is terrific but maddeningly contradictory with athleticism but getting blocked a lot at the rim, practicing tons of 3s but hardly taking any this season (made 1-2), sometimes finishing with poise and touch, other times looking like he's just learning what to do with the ball. Credit to opponents for stopping him at the rim but if he could utilize a quick fake more he'd get more easy buckets. Watch more Diaw tape and use that ass more lol Contributed a solid 20 on terrific 8-12, 1-2 from 3, 3-3FTs, with 8 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks.

Keldon eld the bench with 29 minutes and chipped in 11 on 5-9, 1-2 from 3. He should have had some trips to the FT line, too. Also had bench high 5 boards, 4 assist, and 2 steals. Not easy going from once the go-to on O starter to this role yet not a word of complaint and just played his heart out. Love him on our team and all he shows and in doing so represents.

Julian (3-9) and Castle (3-10) struggled to score but we needed every point and so good thing we got the starting five together when we did.

Tre was scoreless in 14 minutes but we are bringing him back slowly. We do need him together his reps in and feel more comfortable.

We ran an 8-man u it with CBass filling in 8 minutes and chipping in 4 points.

We poured in 19-42 from 3 on 101 shots, which is a terrific balance. The bench was only 3-11 from 3 and that was from two players so the total team consistency is something to work towards.

Though we had 17 TOs which cost us 28 points - something to keep working on - we also had 15 steals on their 22 TOs from which we got 35 points!

We did give up too many boards losing that battle 53-42 and 12-8 on O and we also lost the POIT fight 54-50 largely on D miscues and miscommunication, something else to work on.

We got to the FT line decently but only made 16-23. It could have been over in regulation had we made a play where and there and made our average percentage of FTs but again we *found ways to make great plays and make the most of luck bouncing our way*. We could say this hardly at all last season and this is a big improvement for us.

Lots to work on including making sure we talk and have guys covering right opponents rather than five Spurs in the paint, including better boxing out, and paint and ball protection, including faster, better half court execution, and including wise decisions of when to shoot from where vs. when to run the clock some more. Luck was on our side but we did also make enough plays to court it and will it over in our favour. Let's watch tape and not tempt fate as much. It can be fickle. More right plays on bothe ends for continued good results.

LFG

This was also the first time a player recorded 6 rebounds and 5 assists on the third Thursday in December after 9:00pm on an odd number day when the weather was somewhat overcast after the groundhog saw his shadow.......

So previously a never before reached achievement was deemed meaningless because we lost, and now we won and it's still dismissed.

I think a player reaching heights no other player in NBA history is worthy of at the very least pointing out. The merit stands, and he's only 20. Trivializing it doesn't have anything to do with the achievement itself.

The obnoxiousness of attention seeking posts like that just rub me the wrong way. (Im not saying you yourself but the person posting it)
Its just number salad. You could make a silly post like that about every players stats every night.
We know he's good. We can see it for ourselves. I enjoy watching him play. Im not crazy about the attention seekers latching on.(not you, the original poster)

I understand thats his job, to seek attention. But its just a really weird way of doing it.

It's ok I didn't take it like it was directed my way but thanks for explaining further what irks you.

This was one place of several that marked these stats (probably made their way around) and I used his tweet for variety (and it was the I think second one I found that stated it but couldn't find the first and didn't want to wade through the Twitter marshes for it). NBA and some stats accounts wrote about it, too.

I do see more journos attaching themselves to Wemby, Windy being prime among them. He was there before the draft. And has made some eye raising statements about how like if we don't speed up our timeline it will not go over well with him meanwhile Wemby has been consistent about his frank relationship with Pop et al and how happy he is with team progress.

Since that comment, Windy stirrings have died down. But yeah thanks for explaining as I thought you weren't impressed with the achievement itself and I thought man what's the kid have to do to impress gump?!
