2ND Q: SPURS 64 76ERS 52

Some better stretches through the wonky play.

We are led by our young vets Sochan, Dev, and longest tenured Spur KJ. Still feels weird to say that.

10TOs. Clean it up.

Castle struggling to score but leads us with 6 assists.

Both teams shooting efficiently but we are hitting our 3s at 50% and have made twice as many, which mostly accounts for the lead.

Can't play with that kind of fire. Turn up the D. Finish better at the rim. Protect the ball.

Castle passing game ON POINT tonight.

Sochan another whiffed chance at the rim.

Passed instead of finishing.

Instincts need honing.

Sochan ONCE AGAIN a straight up mano a mano dunk attempt and gets blocked.

For the love of basketball STOP BEING STUPIDLY STUBBORN AND LEARN TO MAKE MOVES TO GET AROUND GUYS AT THE RIM.

Shortest 7' wingspan.

3RD Q: SPURS 91 76ERS 96

We had a 16 point lead.

Like I said. Playing with fire. Getting singed now. Pour some water on their hot run.

We FAd.

Let's learn and adjust rather than FO.

4TH Q: SPURS 128 76ERS 120

Wasn't pretty, but got the job done.

Castle career high 14 assists. Some absolute seeing eye zips.Struggled through to help us what with the +20 and 17 on 6-13, 0-3 from 3, team high 5-5FTs, 3 steals, and a block. Just a dog in the best way.

CP was credited as helping him see the court and reads better per post-game interview. Reps with teammates throughout the season have helped.

Lots of missed bunnies but kept at it.

Didn't love the super deep 3s. Make sure the closer ones are going in at a more high consistent rate before going superhero mode.

Our young guns stepped well. Dev got us started with a barrage of 3s. He led us with 37 minutes and was often the constant thread among various sub combinations. He scored 20 on healthy 7-16, 4-8 from 3, 2-2FTs, 5 boards (1 on O), 7 assists, 3 steals. His efficiency was in proportion to the difficulty of his shots. Go figure. Great switches, fighting through screen, man and team D coverage. Terrific two-way game.

And that made us a bit too comfortable. We were up, yes, but at least 50% from 3 is rarely sustainable for a whole game and sure enough true to our pattern, ours dipped. Just. We still shot it an amazing 48.5% from the arc, and we frankly needed it. We allowed 120 points to a nine-player team.

Its been a while since Sochan both started and led us in scoring, but such was tonight. 23 on 11-17, no 3s (a business decision), 1-2 FTs, team high 9 boards and team high 5 on O, along with 2 assists. Defensive menace. Very active tonight.

I wonder which scouts attended this game? I wonder why Sochan was once again just out of his position. He's finally starting again but at small ball 5. Decent but not reliably good handles, protects the ball better, and like Castle, really needs to improve the finishing at the the rim toolkit.

KJ and Blake who featured the newly improved 3s stroke (confident stroke with a good smooth form for bench best 3-3 from the arc!) rounded out the best help. KJ led with 18 on 6-10, 2-3 from 3, 4-5FTs on bench high 26 minutes.

It was a tight none man rotation and vets Barnes (14 on 5-10 but 2-7 from 3) and CP3 (a whopping 6-7 from 3!) stood out well to balance out Champie amd Mamu struggling. We had more than enough firepower tonight.

Ball protection and defense let us down at times though we recovered well. We outrebounded them and had 32 assists but 14TOs showed a lack of focus and seriousness to take the opponent as a worthy challenge. It wasn't until they not only chipped away at our 16 point lead to take it over themselves. Woke us up, thankfully.

I like the bigger minutes and featuring of our young guys. I hope Sochan gets to play his natural position.

Good team effort to stay with it.

This team is beyond idiotic.

What a shock!!! Mamu didn't play well. IT'S BECAUSE HE SUCKS!!!!!!!!!! There is a reason he is on a bad team.

We could literally double our chance at a #1 pick just by losing some games. Oh but lets let some crappy players feel good about themselves BECAUSE THEY BEAT ANOTHER BAD TEAM THAT IS ACTUALLY TRYING TO LOSE so they can continue to make us suck longer. Great plan.

I'm confused by the Mamu comments. He is actually getting more minutes. So is Blake. Both 3rd string players are now part of the regular rotation. Vets are playing fewest minutes. Sochan is playing starting C. It's not like we're fielding world beaters.

Knicks are a mess. They are actually trying to win it yet lost to Hornets after our game. 76ers have barely enough players to field a team. They're 2-8 in last 10 and still came back to lead after being down 16. Realistically we are doing what we can short of fielding Austin's 3rd stringers. It's just too many teams have been woeful far longer. Like if we hadn't won anything after Fox went down then we'd still be I think 8th.

As it stands, we're likely going to stumble ass backwards into at least 10 more wins than last season. That says as much about our improvement as it does about a third of the league running their teams into the ground. There's lots if ways to improve.

I was just frustrated because I saw we won again when we had that game lost, then came back. No one wants to say it but every game we win is costing us being better next year. Besides Castle, Sochan, and probably Johnson, I dont care if any of these guys are here next year.

This is exactly what happens. Guys like Mamu and Champaigne will score a lot of points one game against a team not trying to win and then we keep them lingering around eating up minutes losing us games next year when we want to win. All because people are fooled into thinking they are good because of one meaningless game we should have lost anyway. What Mamu did the other night was abnormal for him. His normal is an end of the bench player, tops.

It set me off when you mentioned he didn't play well last night like it was some kind of setback for him. No, thats normal for him.

I'm just tired of it. I've never been this frustrated with this franchise in my lifetime. Just ignore me and get off my lawn.

I've heard that one before lol Bryn as starter brought out some angst.

I see more where you're coming from re: Mamu. I just thought that us going to 3rd stringers signalled where you want the team to go, away from vets and more towards young guys, out of position for some.

Like I don't think this signals Mamu is more than he is, just that he had a great game, once in a blue moon. And Knicks did sweet **** all to better guard the pick and pop. One of those lightening strikes games. He and Blake getting regular minutes is the way to go.

But we had 23 Ws when Wemby went down. That was a month ago. Now, there are six teams with 23 or fewer teams. We have since won 7 games, the last three Ws without Fox. We're 3-2 in the last 5 without Fox, defeating 76ers, Knicks, NOP, losing to Hornets and LAL. Even looking at 'should' win or lose, we'd switch Knicks for Hornets it's still 3-2. I get what you're saying but like a month ago we were out of the bottom at least six. We already had more wins.

We do have a tough schedule and there are ways of improving even in this deep draft, where we will have two lotto picks. Trades can happen, too. We have lote of picks to sweeten the pot.

I think we wanted to compete more this season and rely on the Hawks pick to be worse. Turns out so far it's the opposite but we can always package them for other avenues.

Plus, you just *never know* which way the lotto ball will bounce.

I believe there's a reason we have 1, , 3, 4, 5 numbers already chosen with one spot left open for the right draft selection...
