4TH Q: SPURS 113 CAVS 114
BAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
UNC BARNES WITH THE LAST SECOND HOOK SHOT MISS...
BAAAAAAAH!
Proud of our comeback, of making a competitive game of it, and though our players surely don't bask in moral victories, there are good things to take from this game.
CP was an absolute beast, late in the game, especially. In a parallel universe, I imagine this very passion and *still!* taking the game over ability ultra competitiveness making game-winning impact deep in the playoffs for us. That is to say, I hope he stays with us, I hope he is ok with an important bench role, in what surely will be a post-season run next year.
The vets came through with big games, BB with 3-4, Barnes with 50% efficiency overall and from 3.
Our three best assets back, plus two quality picks, plus whichever trades to bolster the roster, and we're right there. Nevermind playin. We have gripped and tripped and swung our way into ten more wins this season without our three best assets, and yet here we are pushing a top contender to within a shot of winning. Watch the **** out.
Castle came through with another near triple double with 22-9-11. His second in two games. 1-6 from 3 needs work. But the guts to take them don't. Still, judgement as to best shot in each situation will come with experience and film. No FTs in the second half does as well, but at least as a team we stepped it up for 15-19. Of course in a one point game, each of these is magnified, but so are all other team misses. Love his going away from the pace-changing Euro hesi to fake and middy, and also the going left finishing with the right floater. Interesting adjustments and improvements in real time.
Dev came through with a super efficient 24 on 50% overall and 6-10 from 3 along with 4 boards, 3 assists, and game high 4 steals. Awesome. I liked his shot choices, although more at the rim and some FT chances is always better. Still, got to his spots, made his shots, willed his way to his game. I also liked how his dribble was tighter, quicker, and he did well to get by his defender better, sooner.
Bench. Champie shined, leading with 15 on 5-9, 2-6 from 3, 3-3FTs, and bench high 6 boards. It's weird how some guys repeat the same mistakes. Like being stuck on a nightmare you can't wake from. Champie and makes at the rim are in this realm. So, too, is Blake and layups. It's Lonnie-itis; the closer to the rim, the lower the chance of it going in and vice versa. Can we not expect higher efficiency closer to the rim from them? One guy a 3s expert, the other a speed demon. Just. Remember. Fundamentals. Are. Sexy.
Don't make me y'all, y'all get it done. Hit'er'dun.
Just work on it. It's time.
Too bad Malaki didn't get any minutes. He has to fight all the more to make the impression of being relied upon to get the job done. Selflessly. On both ends.
We got 27 from the bench, low for us, and Blake may be kicking himself for the 0-7, 0-4 from 3. But part, a big part, of growth is putting that kind of game behind you quickly, putting it in the right perspective, and keeping on keeping on in the next game. It's a game of margins; sometimes it's a game of miles; sometimes it's a game of inches.
Either way, onwards we go.

I really wanted to watch Cleveland but I am soo disconnected from this loser team that I forgot we had a game.
We are pretty much locked in at 8 now with a 6% chance at the lottery. If Atlanta loses out and we lose out we could potentially get that up to 9%
