Big win to make a statement for this team short-handed on the road against Dallas. Reminds me of how the team opened the 06-07 season at Dallas.

Guys we did the thing! I'll try to be more active on here this season. It was honestly shocking to see Wemby do a lot of the things we thought he would do under Pop. He actually played big and limited his 3 pt shooting. Also maybe just as important, he FINALLY keeps the ball high when he catches it instead of bringing his arms low to get stripped ala Dwight Howard.

I think the most exciting thing is this game was something he could replicate against any team. It was insane to me that he made The Brow look like a JAG...and took a bunch of rebounds away from Lively. To be able to neutralize guys of that caliber on both the offensive and defensive end...I honestly got Wilt vibes. Just can't express how happy I am he's no longer going to try to be Durant-lite.

Separately, Castle is the truth. He showed elite defense and explosiveness towards the rim. Ya his freethrow shooting was horrific, but I think he will make a lot of people eat their words who called him a sham of a ROY.

Harper...wow. Welcome to the NBA moment. He was...really bad, especially in that first. Like directly lost us 10 pts bad. That said, he flashed a little bit at the end with some of his footwork, and hitting that 3 (he will need this to beat out Vassell who also played amazing).

I was pleased to see Carter Bryant take a moment to use much more of his legs on his jumper. It was something small but was something I harped on a lot seeing him in the summer. He just was short on everything because he wasn't using his legs to shoot. I think we should also be playing David Jones Garcia more. He's the perfect off the bench guy and always seems to find ways to contribute.

Can't wait to see how we develop over the season! I think we are clearly a playoff team if healthy and maybe can steal a round 1 win. That's my hope

Also something super small but impressive to note. There was a play (I think it was in the 2nd) where our guard was dribbling at the top of the key and Wemby was in post up position on the wing. Before he even got the ball, he did a head fake like he was going for an oop, received the ball, did another fake because his defender was already jumpy, got him to bite, and had an EASY roll to the basket for a dunk. This has Hakeem's training written all over it and is next level mindgames rather than the "get the ball and iso" that the NBA has become
