It really gives us perspective on our season so far...

OT, but assuming you're a boxing fan - what did you think of the Mayweather-Hatton fight last year?

I am a hardcore boxing fan... In fact I do alot of boxing training and sparring.

Well anyone who follows the sport knew that Mayweather was going to win. He was for the first time facing someone smaller than him, he was the faster and stronger fighter, and he is on another level in terms of skills compared to Hatton. HBO did a great job of selling the fight as competitive with their brilliant 24/7 series but in reality the Hatton had no chance. Mayweather closed the show like he was supposed to and proves to everyone that he is the pound for pound best. I can only hope that he faced Cotto now instead of a rematch vs Oscar De La Hoya. He made over 60 million dollars last year... he doesn't need another fight vs Oscar.

i was in class when i saw the boxscore to this game. my jaw dropped. i was so estatic the teacher was looking at me funny. im really happy the spurs got this win cause they were down when i was driving to class. and esp with lebron and hughes going off.

btw, im a HUGE mma fan (more pride but since ufc bought them out im forced to watch ufc..). i was wondering what you thought about mayweather wanting to compete in the ufc.

Admittedly I am more of a casual observer of boxing. I like it, but only specific fights and fighters. I won't watch just any old fight.

That being said, I've seen quite a few of Hatton's fights and I thought he had a decent shot at beating Mayweather. This delusion was washed away pretty much in the opening seconds of the 1st round though.

I saw Hatton more as a wear 'em down, defensive boxer and I kind of thought Mayweather was more mouth than talent. Boy was I wrong.
