OT : Yao done for season

Post#1 » by Magz50 » Tue Feb 26, 2008 6:27 pm

On the general board. He has a stress fracture that will require surgery and keep him out this season. Bad news for Houston. I guess it wil laffect Brent's decision too if he was gonna go there. Probably not anymore.

Yeah, I was just gonna say that this is doubly good for us. Takes a contender out of the picture and increases the chances of Brent coming back.

Feel bad for Yao & Houston though...that really sucks. :(

Yeah feel bad for the Rox fans. Knowing your team was a contender and then losing your goto guy like that just flat out sucks. I wonder if they'll have enough to still make the playoffs this year. T Mac is gonna have to play out of his skin.

Just horrible for the Rockets

They were going so well in the new year after a messy start.

Unfortunately, this was one of the injury concerns that was there for the Rockets.

Questionable if they can still make the playoffs. Especially because a main reason why they had it going well with Yao out for 2-3 months last season, was Deke playing so well. Can he do that again? I don't know.

They might be able to make the POs still, but I think things definitely go to Denver/Golden State again. This also does lessen the WC somewhat.

I didn't think Houston were a contender, though. Not established enough for me, and had some question marks. They'd have to prove being a title contender along the way, at least in getting to the WCF.

Jeez... this sucks for them. Fire the doctor... the man was talking around with broken bones for god's sake. He was playing in the allstar game.

Bad luck. Will the Rockets ever have an injury free season?
