Big question, at 5'-10" can he defend?!
We already have problems w/ Parker at 6'-2"
Stoudamire a Spur soon?

The team defense will help a lot, though. Also will have more energy and direction to play defense, and being experienced and wanting to win a ring, shouldn't make him bad defensively. He just has to give the effort, and he should. Also must know what to expect coming onto the team.
If he doesn't defend effectively enough, his role will be reduced. That's how it goes with Pop.
A certainity? Definitely not. A fair possibility? Yeah.

Just to follow-up on that, if Boston actually does get Sam Cassell, the same thing goes with him defensively. It goes both ways.

I think it's a great move considering we're not going to have Tony Parker for the next 3 weeks i think and also no Barry. I mean, if the team was healthy, i don't think i'll get excited at all about this move.
Anyways, the good thing is that when everyone gets healthy, i expect Damon to beat out Vaughn for the backup spot. Manu really is a one man team with the 2nd unit. I understand that it gives him the confidence and the green light to fire at anytime, but with his shot selection becoming worse, a steady floor general and scorer like Damon can really help the team's 2nd unit offensively.

He has been a serviceable back up. Gives us a nice change of pace vs Vaughn, gives us some more aggressiveness on offensive vs the steady play and defense we get from Vaughn. He could be hitting his shots at a little higher clip though. But he's been selective with his shots at least.
