Agreed.

As I've said before, I trust that like usual, things will be different in the playoffs from this team. The below-average play like tonight and in that 7-game stretch isn't going to be there much in the playoffs. It's just a different situation, even from a significant regular season game.

I say not much, because of the loss like against the Suns in G2 last year, and against the Jazz in G3.

Infuriating game. Pop disgusted me with his coaching. Weakside defense was nowhere to be found. Duncan played 26 minutes in a really important game. He never entered the game after midway through the 3rd. That was disgusting. Gino was struggling on the offense by himself. Vaughn was a joke on offense. A literal joke. He would drive to the top of the key, pick up his dribble, and not know what to do. Pop threw in the towel waaay too early. Spurs were down by 6 towards the end of the third. Pop leaves subs in with Gino. Spurs get down by 13 with 11 minutes in the 4th. A good idea would be to put Duncan and Parker back in and let them help out. Instead he pulls Ginobili and leaves a horrible team out there that looks like a D league team. Those GUYS ARE ROLE PLAYERS!!! They assist your stars and play off of your stars. They are not PLAYMAKERS! That is when the Spurs lost the game. Complete meltdown. Pop was probably trying to make a point, but it is getting a bit too late for this. Honestly, I think Pop is being too stubborn here with his bench and expecting too much from the role players. He can't possibly expect the role players to make a comeback against DERON, BOOZER, AK47, MEHMET, and Korver. 3 FRICKIN former ALL STARS, and their BEST player isn't even one of them. And you expect to have Damon, Vaugh, Bonner, Bobby Jones, and Ime to make a run against them? Pop just took a stab at the Spurs confidence and JET FUELED the Jazz's confidence.

As a Jazz fan I am worried about Jazz arrogance. This team is so young, but they are smart. I guess 2 losses to thew T-wolves will make you a little cynical.

Exactly! I think it's important that we roll, not stumble into the playoffs. The game was still well within reach going into the fourth. Duncan had 1 foul, he is supposed to be one of the best players of all time? He should have been in there winning that game for us. ESPECIALLY with the game he was having. Same for Parker. What about Kurt Thomas? He was doing everything right, tonight. You guys can tease me for saying this, but Damon Stoudamire should be getting Vaughn's minutes. I know, for some reason a lot of you feel that Vaughn gives us some type of defensive presence? I just don't see it. As I see it, Stoudamire is a better ball handler than Vaughn, MUCH better shooter, better passer and I'd happily take a confident Stoudamires offense over Vaughn's defense, any day of the week.

For those of you who say home court doesn't matter in the playoffs, this year. Do you really think this disgrace would have happened in San Antonio? 64pt's?

I'm a little worried that this ass whipping could mean trouble for the game in San Antonio. I had no doubts that my Jazz would take this one at home--let's face it, they're as close to unbeatable at home as any team since the MJ Bulls--but the really important one will be the 2nd of the two. The Jazz have to get the monkey off their backs and get a win in San Anton.

I'm hoping that this doesn't fire you guys up for that game.

Well thank goodness I didn't see this game... out on a date... thankfully it was good enough for me to not watch the game while eating at the restaurant or when we went bowling.

vaugh has absolutely no talent

Vaughn has no talent, too slow and small for defense and absolutely no shot offense.

You would think he could at least run the offense by passing the ball at the right time... unfortunately he was a complete ball hog.

No no no...
This is Pop's game.
When the spurs enter the playoffs seemingly wounded, they are at their best. I'm sure that after the game no heads were hanging. Each player knows what it takes. They've been there before and seeding or displaying great basketball now is not a priority.
Kudos to Utah though, no disrespect. They are a better team than last year in the playoffs.

You know there are always 5 games in the season that we just need to forget... this was one of them. They were just flat out better than us last night clearly.

The Jazz brought the rain big time on the Spurs last night. It was a bad game I'm sure the Spurs would really like to erase from their memories. The Jazz played the better game and won b/c of it. Now it's time for the Spurs to get an new win streak going again b4 the season concludes in two weeks.

Well I just remember when we have games like these that this game is no different from a last sec buzzerbeater, a eh 7 point loss... We can't get too hung up on it and we have win our next few games to get back on track over this hangover.

The Spurs simply got it like that. A team full of smart vets who know to play the game very well and know not to let a loss, whether it's miminal(sp) or large margin define them and allow it to kill their confidence and momentum.

If this were true, I wouldn't be so upset. It was still very much a game, going iinto the fourth. Our roster decisions at that point just made no sense if we actually wanted to win the game. Did Gino or any of our starters even get 30 mins, this game?

Popovich is keeping their minutes pretty low no matter who the opponent is, he wants them full blast come playoff time, only he knows what he's doing . :banghead: :D
