Splitter was a picture perfect pick...every spursfan has to love it! I can live with those prospects as long as they finally play for us (scola?)...everybody is excited about Ian and Splitter...and its always good to know, there are some guys left in our sleeves...if they like to, I can live with always taking a foreign prospect in either round
...we are in win now mode...so why waste time in bringing in rookies, if you can get better players (Splitter would have gone higher if playing immediately) for later years?

I'm just looking at nbadraft.net and it has Weaver falling below our pick. Does anyone here think he could be a nice addition to our team?

A swingman who could spend time at the point could be a very valuable asset to this team. Based on this report it seems as though he already possesses many of the skills Jacque Vaughn brings to the table. Mostly capable defense, physical toughness and solid ball handling.

Yeah I do like Weaver, has to improve his shot, though
Because while Vaughn's not a decent shooter, his mid-range shot is okay and is able to hit it on a regular basis.
I especially like that he'll have the ability to defend smaller guards, and has a pretty good size advantage.

Want to know what to expect in th draft? Well, if history is any indicator:
2007 Draft - Tiago Splitter, Marcus Williams, Giorgos Printzis
2006 Draft - Damir Markota
2005 Draft - Ian Mahinmi
2004 Draft - Beno Udrih, Romain Sato, Sergei Karaulov
2003 Draft - Leandro Barbosa
2002 Draft - John Salmons, Luis Scola, Randy Holcomb
2001 Draft - Tony Parker, Robertas Javtokas, Bryan Bracey
You have to go all the way to 2001 to find a player who has put in a single quality minute in a Spurs jersey. Aside from Udrih and Marcus Williams' single game this season, I can't even recall any of these players stepping foot on the court for us.
I'm at the point where I'm really concerned with the directon of this team. Of our current cast, I think Manu and Parker are at their peaks. Parker, I feel will be playing at his peak a bit longer than Manu. The rest of the team, I feel is on the decline.
