Rockets agree to terms with free agent guard Barry
By JONATHAN FEIGEN

Brent Barry, the free agent guard the Rockets targeted from the first minute of this month’s free agency period to bolster their bench, told the team Thursday that he would sign with the Rockets, Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said.

More than four months after the Rockets pursued Barry when he became a mid-season free agent, the Rockets landed Barry following nine days considering their offer of their bi-annual salary cap exception, worth $3.9 million over two seasons.

He gone.

Not good to lose him, but overall I'm not that disappointed.

this hurts worse than anything else that has happened thus far. not because we lose brent (and i love him, he will be missed) but because it means that finley is probably coming back...

I'll be happy with another new wing who has some versatility, regardless of Finley... but if not, and just Mason as a new guy and rookies? Not quite satisfied.

Sad to see him go. He's one of my all-time favourite Spurs.

Good luck to him in Houston, though it's kind of a pointless move IMO. They're not going anywhere.

I honestly felt that Brent could start for our team. With the goal of bringing Manu off the bench, there's absolutely no reason Brent couldn't / shouldn't. If his play in the Lakers series is any indication of what he could still do with play time and while healthy, he is easily our third best guard. Brent was invaluable when Parker or Manu have an off night.

Bones you were one of my favorite players with the Spurs. A class guy. Never bitched about his role. Hell, he got traded a few times and still was upbeat and played a role on our championships. I will miss the HEB commercials.

Not a big loss IMO. Spurs signing Roger Mason makes up for it.

I loved what he brought, the plays he made, the shots he hit, and the energy. Super reliable. I just don't agree with him going to Houston, and think we'll still be fine without him.

It's a shame to lose him. He was great for us and did whatever was asked. Good luck to him (except when we play him).
