george hill smaller version of brandon roy?

Post#1 » by coy01 » Fri Sep 26, 2008 2:19 am

george hills game can some-what relate to brandon roy. a combo guard who relys more on their smarts rather than athleticism. they both seem to be extremly smooth players who play with patience and don't really force much. they know how to pick and choose their spots and always looking for their team-mates. so what you want, but i like the pick and maybe on day he can become similar to roy

If he was a smaller version of Roy he'd be signed by now...

He is signed. That still does or does not make him a smaller version of Roy.

I hope so but I don't think that is realistic. I want to see him play more vs legit nba player before giving a nba comparison.

George Hill has more in common with Salim Stoudamire than with Brandon Roy.

far from salim. hill is more of a slasher and creator. salim is a gunner and ball hog. hills game is so smooth and deceptively quick.

I'd be extatic if that comparison turned out to be even half way accurate. The most worrying aspect of Hill's game was his inability to finish around the rim in summer league. Hopefully this can be chalked up to the frantic pace of summer league play.
At the very least he should be a good defensive specialist.

compared to Brandon Roy, Hill atleast is about the same height as Salim and they both areSGs in a PGs body. They both got that going for him.

that comparison is so far off, that it might get close again coming all around the globe.
I can see that fans wish that Hills turns out to be a helpful player and some even try hard to find comparisons to somehow support this. but to compare Hill to Roy is as absurd as claiming Ian was a smaller version of Dwight Howard.
