Spurs trade I. Udoka, J. Vaughn and rights to J. Gist
TO
Kings for F. Garcia and a 2011 future second round pick.
For the Spurs, they get younger at the SF position with Garcia. Is capable of keep the defenses friendly since he's a solid shooter. Decent help defender who can steal the ball fairly efficiently.
For the Kings, they simply take back expiring contracts in both Udoka and Vaughn. They take back some defensive help in Udoka who can provide such at the SF spot. He can also provide some spot up shots when neccessary. Vaughn adds vet experience to an already logjam at the PGs position. Adding Gist's rights to the deal may be of good use for the Kings due to possible holes at the PF spot coming up in the summer.

Hmmm, not sure about that one - although we wouldn't be losing rotation players.
I'd like to get Brad Miller, have wanted him on the Spurs since he was a Bull, but I don't think we have the pieces to get it done.

Replace the rights to Gist with another future second rounder or the rights to Javtokas and it's a deal.

Miller would definately be of good help to the Spurs, but like you said, the Spurs don't have the pieces to get it done. They would have to eat into their roster to trade for him.

I'd love to see Cisco on this team, he's a Spurs-type player on both sides of the court, versatile, and young

Re: Spurs/Kings trade
we were having a discussion on the "other" spurs board involving salmons and garcia came up. and since im a lazy poster, here is what i said over there:
now normally, id be all over this kind of deal. we give up next to nothing, and get a contributing player. my concern though would be garcias contract. hes owed about 23 mil over the next 4 years. that would be a very good figure if he was shooting like last year (46% from the field, 39% from 3pt) and not like he has been this year (42% from the field, 33% from 3pt). its still good value for the spurs though. i just have concerns about a players performance taking a dip after being handed a fat contract. he was hurt coming into the season, so maybe he deserves a bit of leeway.
and since im again a lazy poster, from over there again:
again, dont know if the kings would be at all interested, but figured it doesnt hurt to ctrl+v it here too.

obie + udoka + rights to splitter (or 2011 1st with some kind of protection, like top 8, if kings prefer)
for
salmons
we also have the gsw 2nd rounder next year, and while 2nd rounds hold very little to no value around the league, the warriors pick is about as valueable as a 2nd rounder gets (top5 right now). now whether the kings would ever go for something like this is another story.

I really don't mind that trade at all. I've always kinda been a fan of Garcia (he's a regular addition on my assosiation mode on 2k9.
I'd really like to get a serviceable big as well but I would pull the trigger on that trade

Re: Spurs/Kings trade
It's funny that most of you have an "I don't mind that trade" reaction where we actually talk about a decent player who just signed his new contract, traded for crap. Anyway, wanting to get rid useless players for good ones is something that's talked about in every team forum.
Practically speaking the Kings are interested in expiring contracts under two circumstances:
1) You have to include their crap too (Kenny Thomas or Mikki Moore) along with the player you want (only Miller and Salmons sound available right now).
2) You have to give a decent young forward/center since they are rebuilding. The Spurs don't have one.

A whiny malcontent who, despite being almost 7 feet, can't (or won't) rebound or defend?
My offer would be future 2nd round draft picks. Surely Sarver would jump at the chance.

Re: Spurs/Kings trade
I'd welcome John Salmons on this team, I've watched him on a consistent basis since he's been a King, and he's a legit two-way player, and an all-nba level defender. Not a good 3PT shooter, but definitely not a liability there either. Above-average creator for himself and others, significant athleticism. Really has become one of my favorite players, as well.
Brad Miller? Well, he'd have a lot less responsibility than he's had, but I question how much of a factor he'd be defensively. Even with a far superior defensive team around him. He'd absolutely improve the offense, and add some pretty solid help on the glass.

Re: Spurs/Kings trade
If a trade was made with San Antonio and the Kings it would be Brad Miller and/or John Salmons for Horry(via sign, and then Kings would just waive him), expirings, and a pick.
