Spurs vs. Mavs

Post#1 » by LyMinh » Tue Feb 24, 2009 6:23 pm

Weren't the Mavericks good a few years ago? So hard to remember teams that don't win championships.

Anyway, good to be back after a long road trip. Get some home cooking. Spurs will win easily.

I think the cussings from Pop about the defense are beginning to sink in. Spurs win.

No matter how badly Dallas is playing overall, they always play us tough. Hopefully the lack of Jason Terry, who always seems to be on fire against us, will help make this a W.

Looking for Tony to have a really big game here. Mason will likely get alot of touches too with no Manu.
The Mavs have really dropped off from a few years ago but still they bring their A-Game for us so we need to be on our guard and after a few losses to Knicks and Raptors we need to be taking every team seriously

The Spurs played great, but a big part of that was an absolutely embarrassing performance by the mavs.

Spurs hold Dallas to 76 points, Tim Duncan played zero minutes, Bruce Bowen played 12.

Ok, of the two "younger" teams on the rise from a few years back, the future of the NBA that were going to show us OLD team full of has-beens and boring...

Which one has fallen further: Suns or Mavs?

I thought it was the Suns, I'm not sure anmore.

The Kidd trade is going just the way Cuban wanted it to.

Kidd: 2 pts, 6 reb, 4 ast
Parker: 37 pts, 5 reb, 12 ast

It was an impressive showing by Parker. Clearly... we are not going anywhere without Manu and TD but we sure appreciate nights from Parker when we have to have him score in order for us to win. Bonner and company did a reasonable job on Dirk and that is all we can hope for.

I don't really care what seed we are, as long as we are going healthy.

Harris has been ungodly good with New Jersey. He had an epic three to win the game vs Philly.

Agreed. The only team that can beat us in a series is LA. I still like our chances against them, with or without Bynum.

Somewhere, Mark Cuban has to be crying.

and whenever Mark is crying everything is right in the world...
I don't think anybody thought that the Harris/ Kidd trade was a good idea.

I would really love it if we can keep this team intact for the rest of the season, that would be awesome, still it is a testament to how good we are that we are 2nd in the west and for a larger portion of the year we have been running undermanned

^^^^ well the trade deadline has passed, so we're going with this roster into the postseason. I'm very happy with what we have and think we can beat anyone if healthy.

On a side note, we're plating pretty well without Manu and TD. How do you guys think we would go without them permanently? Not that I want this to happen, but do you think we're a .500 team without those guys?

No i don't think we would, we don't have the strength up front, and are to reliant on Parker playing like a All NBA 1st teamer.
However, he has been very impressive thus far.
Any word on how long Duncan is out for?
