The Miller/Salmons deal! I really think that would put us over the edge.

Miller wouldn't actually help. If you get Milller we're doubling on Timmy.

Bonner is an annoyance for us until we get Bynum back because he gives us a great 1-on-1 defensive option on Duncan. Salmons would help that's true.

With trade: We'd have to get something for almost nothing. Add piece(s) we can use without removing any contributiing role players. Whether that's Miller/Salmons, or whatever.

Without trade: Play almost perfect and Lakers would need to play less than 100% ability.

There's no secret to beating us. I just don't know why teams don't utilize it more. Our biggest liability has always been our pg position. Our best defender at our pg position is a 35 year old flat-footed veteran in Derk Fisher. Jordan Farmar is an absolute matador on defense. He's a great athlete with all the physical gifts to be a great defender. But he is absolutely horrible. You guys should just unleash Tony Parker and have him drive and drive and penetrate on us every chance he gets. Whenever we play teams that have good quick point guards, we hope that your coach handcuffs them and makes them be a pass first pg and run the half court offense. If you guys would just let Tony Parker relentlessly attack us you'll have a much better chance at winning. Sure Tim Duncan is a great player but we're so big and lengthy inside that we do a pretty good job with bothering and collapsing on post players. Quick point guards penetrating from the top of the key is definitely the way to attack us. Let Tony Parker break us down off the dribble and have him get our bigs in foul trouble. Or shoot the floater, or kick the ball out to Roger Mason. Deron Willams ended our winning streak in our last game before the All Star break because he just relentlessly attacked us. Sure he's known to be a pass first pointguard. But that game he decided he had to score a lot offensively for the Jazz to win and he lit us up for 30 points and 11 assists. We had no answer for him. We even had to throw Kobe on him by the end of the game. Also whenever a point guard starts torching Fisher it really gets in his head. He always tries to answer back and tends to put up an ill-advised three whenever he gets burned on the other end. Its frustrating and annoying. I have no idea why Fisher thinks he has the green light but he shoots like he does. So a good formula for beating us is to utilize your quick point guard. Unleash him and give him the green light. And to hit your open threes. We collapse so much and so hard that we give up A LOT of open threes. We'll pack the paint and do a good job in bothering post players. But we are horrible in our rotations and closing out on threes. With players like Roger mason and Bonner, they'll have a lot of open touches when we play. As a laker fan I fear Tony Parker more than Duncan. Not a knock on Duncan, but we are just horrible in trying to guard pgs. So hopefully this gives you guys some insight from a laker fan on how to beat us. (Just don't tell Pop) And if we meet again in the playoffs, I'm sure it'll be EPIC. 8-)

IMO, it'll take a big that the Spurs just don't have. The refs let the Laker players maul Ginobili and Parker on their in Game 2 last year or the Spurs win that series.

The Spurs needed a big to counter all the Lakers height. I believe they can win it all, but they better hope someone else beats the Lakers for a change.

I agree, but as I just posted. The refs were in the tank for the Lakers in Game 2 of last years series. Fish knew the refs would not call fouls at a certain point because viewers turn their TVs off. The Lakers stole momentum of the game and consequently the series.

But for the reason you mentioned of the Lakers sucking at PG defense, it will be really interesting if the Lakers play the Hornets or the Jazz.
