So which west conf playoff team had the worst 1st round of the playoffs.
I am only considering the Jazz, Spurs, and Hornets.
Jazz were supposed to be the 2nd best team in the west. They were supposed to be the only team to beat the mighty lakers. They plummited and had to play the Lakers who are arguably the best team in the west. They ended up losing in game 5. Thier only win was by 2 points, the other 4 losses were by 13, 10, 14, 11
Spurs were considered a quality team that is always dangerous around playoff time. They played the lowly mavericks who some expected to not make the playoffs. They had home court advantage. They ended up losing in game 5. Their only win was by 21 points, the other 4 losses were by 8, 21, 9, 13
Hornets were supposed to be an elite team in the west. They played the newcommer Nuggetts that have not made it out of the first round in 10 years. They tied a record for the worst loss in playoff history. Their only win was by 2 points, the other 4 losses were by 19, 15, 58, 21
I am a Jazz fan, I am sorry but I think it has to be the hornets. because of the big losses. Spurs were a close second due to having home court and being dominated by the Mavs.

You aren't taking injuries into consideration. BTW, since when did the Mavs limp into the playoffs? If I recall they won 7 of their last 8. Jazz were without Okur, Spurs without Ginobli, Hornets without Chandler/Posey, the only one pretty healthy was the Blazers. At the end of the day they all lost. So my answer is all of them. Yea, injuries were a real factor. And Tim and Boozer were not 100%.
Dallas did not exactly strike alot of fear in opponents. I picked you guys to win over dallas.
It is just supprising how bad, Utah, SA and the Hornets did.
Mabey I should of asked which team will do better next year if they all remain the same.

The Manu injury really put a nail in our coffin, that being said i still thought we had what it took to beat Dallas, Obviously not.
Injuries hurt all 3 of those sides, taking all that into account i think New Orleans has to be the front runner for worst, they lost a game by 58 points!

That's music to my eyes. Since the Spurs got knocked out, my championship will be the Lakers getting eliminated.

Re: Western Conference Stinkers
I think the Hornets had the worst first round performance. They were supposed to be one of the best teams in the NBA and with the best point guard in the league they should of put together a better performance, losing by 50+ points in a playoff game is just terrible.
Our performance was pretty sad but not having Manu and Duncan not being 100% really hurt our chances.

Injuries just didn't play a role is the demish of the eliminated playoff teams. Another factor was not improving the roster from last offseason. Particularilly from both the Spurs and Hornets. For the Spurs, they should've done more outside of getting Mason and Hill, they should've improved the frontcourt around the SF and C positions. For the Hornets, the contracts of Chandler and Stojakovic handicaped the Hornets financial cap that they couldn't and currently not afford to improve the roster to help better them as a team.

Re: Western Conference Stinkers
Yeah I'm really dissapointed on what we did last summer. Our biggest need obviously was SF and C and it still is.
George Hill turns out to be a nice surprise and all, but I'll bet my ass off that once his Rookie contract is up, George is gone. It's not like he's gonna be a backup to Tony Parker his whole career. Tony Parker is still young enough where we'd be better having a steady veteran PG (maybe a bit better than Vaughn) instead of a rookie PG.
Finding a future replacement for Manu or Duncan makes more sense in drafting because it's not like Pop's gonna trust a rookie come playoff time unless we're talking rookies that we draft on the lottery.
Then we got Roger Mason, a SG and 3 point specialist, when really we have plenty of 3 point specialists and SG really isn't our main concern. Even if Manu went out, I don't feel Mason is that much better than the guys we have behind him. Udoka? Bowen? Finley?
