I would be down with Gooden coming in. I don't like the idea of using the MLE. I would rather go after a guy like Rasheed Wallace, because they would both be patch work. I just don't see Gooden a good Spur. I would also like to reunite Hermann with Ginobli. I would say Oberto but he needs to be traded for some draft picks. The reason I say that is he could be a good role player and he would be dumb cheap, he has length, height, and can shoot, not super athletic though.

I agree. I think Bonner can still be useful for us, just not as a starter. Oberto and Thomas are done.

When Gooden signed with us he said he wanted to stay long term. I think as a starter with 30+ mins a game he could be effective.

I would be awesome if we can sign Chris Bosh in 2010.... along with Splitter.... It would be the best frontcourt rotation in the NBA. Oh... can't I dream?

He's from Dallas isn't he? Maybe he'll consider SA. There's talk he will forgo signing an extension this summer so he can opt out next year. He'll have plenty of suitors though.

If he's from Dallas, I don't think he grew up thinking "Oh I want to play for the Spurs". I just hope Bosh doesn't hate the Spurs because he's from Dallas. LOL.

Anyways, unless I'm wrong about this, we have no way to sign Gooden unless we use our MLE/LLE. I think our best shot for a big addition to the team is via trade where we have a whole bunch of expirings.

I wasn't suggesting he grew up dreaming of playing in SA. There are three teams in Texas, and possibly all three may appeal to him. Playing in his home state might have some appeal. Not sure.

Here is a link to all upcoming free agents http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/stor ... ents-09-10
A couple of guys on the list I would like to acquire is Gerald Green or Matt Barnes as Unrestricted free agents that could be affordable and maybe Carlos Delfino as a restricted free agent. What do people think of gerald green?

I like Green's athleticism, but he has yet to translate that into the court. Right now, I can't tell the difference between James White and Gerald Green. I like Green as a project, but as our major addition? Hell no...

I like Matt Barnes. Not to Delfino mainly because he's a natural SG. Even thou he can play SF, that's not his true position, and right now I don't want the Spurs to add a SG on the team.

I doubt he can be a starter but what about Rodney Carey? He's long, young (25) and could be a solid player if reaches his potential. I would to trade for Outlaw but don't know if we have enough to give Portland.

I'd definetly take Carney over Green. Carney's a good hustle guy who can do alot of things on both ends of the floor. I think he'll be expendable in Minny next year with Brewer coming back from that knee injury so Carney will be available.

Matt Barnes could be a solid addition for us at SF. He can shoot from outside, rebound and play defense. He fills alot of our needs and plays with alot of energy. I'm guessing he'd cost us around 4-4.5 million a season.
