Is it being greedy to wish for Sheed as well?

Jose "Hammy" Calderon - where Gatorade at the half clouding rational judgment happens, and where "hamstring" injuries linger all season long.

RJ gets along with whoever he plays with, hes really professional its not about him getting along with anyone
its about getting shots for TD, manu, parker, and RJ
and if u throw rasheed into that equation dont you think everyone on the team would be frustrated with the amount of shots they get? i think a banger-type PF/C is more suitable for this team.

Well I know that they would get along but they couldn't be more different.

Jefferson needs to pick up his slack.

Re: Trade Spurs/Bucks....
Jefferson was Ok in Milwaukee, but it was not as if he made all that much difference. Ending up in the lottery could happen for the Bucks with RJ or without him. In either event, Milwaukee is not winning in the short term, so they need to look at the long term.
Jefferson is a solid scorer, but not when the game was on the line. He helps keep the team organized on both ends. He definitely has lost some of his hops, so aging is an issue at a position where athletic ability is important. Drop him down to 30-minutes a game and keep him fresh for the playoffs.
The decline in athleticism showed itself in how Jefferson played the game. In Milwaukee, his 2-point shot attempts decreased by 17% over the prior year. And his FG% on 2-point attempts dropped from from 48% to 45%. To compensate for his lack of drive to the basket, he took more long jumpers - his 3FG attempts increased 37%. Because he became more of a perimeter player, his FT attempts dropped 24%. His overall scoring dropped by 13% in one season. This was all because he was not able to drive to the basket as effectively as he could his last year in NJ.
RJ will be motivated to get a ring, but the risk of injury is undeniable for a 29-year old. That is the real downside for a player who has not missed a game in two years.

I'm not really worried about all of them sharing the ball. They're all humble guys.. Love the trade... Now we just need Splitter to come over and draft some steals with our 2nd rounders...
What's the status on Mahinmi by the way?

The difference between Jefferson last year and previously years, moreso than age is Jason Kidd. In Jersey, he was basically the second scoring option. In San Antonio, depending on who's in game he can be the 2nd, 3rd or 4th option. That is exactly what we need, there have been many times that I'd look at the squad on the court and wonder who was going to be able to put points on the board... Adding a 3rd player who can create his own shot off the ball is exactly what we need.
That said, I'd like to see us make an effort to keep Gooden. Finley and Vaughn can go.
Who's turn is it to create an appreciation thread? Bowen deserves one just as much as any of our big 3 would.

um have you not watched the nets in the playoffs?
*flashback to RJ in toronto game 5 i think, where he scores the crazy layup over bosh, and then steals the ball from calderon to win the game*
RJ is pretty clutch, he always gets those buckets leading up to the game winning shot by like vince carter or michael redd, so when you have those kind of guys on ur team its hard to do so.
although i haven't watched him THAT much in milwaukee, in NJ they went to him alot at the end of games if it was a 2 or 1 point game because ppl would think vince was getting it but it would be an iso for RJ on the wing to get to the basket, ans RJ gets to the basket i dont think there is anyone that is going to stop him from getting there.

I like the fact that former Spurs Finals foes are coming over to the good guys and want to help them win title number 5.
Jefferson-'03 Nets
Gooden-'07 Cavs
All that's left is for them to sign Sheed ('05 Pistons) and the trifecta will be complete.

As a Laker Fan they better take notice and resign Odom and Ariza cause you will need both to stay competitive.

Re: Trade Spurs/Bucks....
Very happy when I saw it on the ticker
I really love it for us, quite a significant improvement, and insignificant loss - especially since I don't doubt much we'll get Bruce back, who is still a valuable role-player. Kurt's not what he was, but still a decent support guy.
Still, what has to be done is get younger and/or more agile/longer up front, not just Ian and the draft (where I really expect us to get a frontcourt player). Need somebody who has some experience.

Re: Trade Spurs/Bucks....
Great trade, we now have a legit 3rd option.
RJ>Fin=Mason as a scorer. Mason is still a great spot-up shooting option.
I think fin however should just be used as trade bait.
His best years, heck even his serviceable years are behind him. He has had some good games for us but few and very far between.
