I think the Spurs will surely offer Rasheed the MLE. He's the guy who hurts us most when we play againts Detroit. I can't imagine them not offering him the MLE.

Well should Sheed sign and magic happens and Mcdyess follows that will give us great depth up front and you'd have to think with RJ added to that would put us right in the Lakers path for B2B titles.
Plus with Splitter and Gist also poised to join the spurs in the not to distan future, our once sad looking frontcourt (Barring #21) is looking pretty damn good

For anyone interested in signing McDyess. It seems like he doesn't want to go back to Detroit, he wants to go to a team that actually has a shot at a title.

After coming up short in five consecutive seasons, McDyess acknowledged during this season's playoffs that his shot at a title might have to come with another team.

However, McDyess discovered just how coveted he was between those transactions, with just about every playoff contender trying to convince him to sign.

"It's a great feeling, to be where I'm at in age and know that there are still teams out there that want me, that think I can help them," he said. "I have to look at all my options."

Marcin Gortat would be a perfect fit as a Starting Center for the San Antonio Spurs. :)

Sheed would obviously be a quality upgrade, but I'm still worried about his age and apparent lack of motivation. I'd much rather the Spurs take a run at Marcin Gortat.

From what I saw last year, scratch the apparent out of the equation. He's playing for the Benjamins now.

A change of scene could possibly work wonders though.

I'm not sold on Gortat. He played well in the playoffs this year, but that was such a limited sample size. Plus he has no offensive game to speak of. Wallace and McDyess are more proven, and at least they have offensive skills that would complement our style of play. If we sign either one of them (or both!!!), that puts us right up there with the Lakers.

Sheed or McDyess via MLE would be a great signing for the Spurs. Celtics and Magic seem to be the other contenders who want to sign them.
