Not really. He had a good playoff run in 07, but his time has passed.

SAS should go over the cap and pay Odom. I think you guys would be the frontrunner for the title if you did. WTF not, you'd have the best 5 in the NBA, a tough rookie in Blair, a chance for TD to win another title, a great coach, I think they should go for it. Your window is open to compete and be the frontrunner for the title, will the SAS, the only other mgmt staff that rivals the LAL IMO, take on the challenge?

I'd love to get Odom, he's a fantastic all-round talent, but if we get him then why did we get Jefferson? Isn't Odom a SF as well? Or do we play Lamar at the 4 and move TD to C? I don't know, I'd prefer we focus on a rebounding big, a la McDyess.

I would rather not have Odom on the team. I know I may be in the minority on that one. He is a great player, but really inconsistent. I would rather focus on getting a starter at center that is a proven vet or a young guy that may be unproven but has lots of potential. With RJ here now we can afford to have Duncan help people grow. I would also like them to get a SF to back up richard, nobody big, just a solid preferably young SF. Odom is a PF/SF, I just don't see him being happy here, he would be our 4th or 5th scoring option depending on who is on the floor. I don't want to break the bank on a guy like that, 10 mil a year for that when we can get rebounding, defense, and a true center right now for much less, it doesn't seem like a good idea.

No to Oberto, sorry, thanks for the memories, but no.

I hope we get some good news soon.

That would be nice. I doubt we could get him with RJ on board now. Besides, the benefits of having such a ridiculously stacked back court would be outweighed by not having a front court at all.

Stranger things have happened though.

Yeah, we almost had him at the trade deadline last year - and like you said, stranger things have happened.

Update

http://www.mysanantonio.com/sports/spur ... llace.html

The Spurs have expressed interest in Rasheed Wallace, Antonio Mcdyess, Marcin Gortat, and Brandon Bass.

It's good to see the Spurs covering all their bases on this one. Dyess and Wallace were expect targets. I'm also pleased that they are considering Gortat. Brandon Bass is a bit of a head scratcher however, maybe he's a plan D.
