Here's what I think everyone can agree on.

The Spurs wouldn't want to trade Duncan at age 35 (even if we end the next 2 season going 10-72) because I think that's just how the Spurs are.

So if the Spurs are to trade Duncan, it'll have to be at Duncan's request. If he feels he's not ready to retire and still wants to chase a ring, then obviously a trade must be made.

Now, I can understand Duncan would want that if he has never tasted a championship before. Many guys request a trade elsewhere to pursue that elusive ring. Karl Malone and Gary Payton are prime examples.

I will say that even if the Spurs went 0-82 this season, we'd still come back as championship contenders after securing a top 3 lottery pick in the draft and came back with a Duncan-Lottery-Jefferson-Manu-Parker lineup. No way we suck this year unless it's a freak injury happening to two or three of our big stars.

so whatever scenario out there (even the worst ones) still doesn't make it likely that the Spurs trade Duncan.. EVER..
