What some Blazer fans were saying too.

What were they thinking? No one is beating the Suns this or any year.

Yes. I agree wholeheartedly. The Suns are rising. Pun intended.

I think it's a no-brainer that Parker starts next game. Historically, he has done very well against Steve Nash on the offensive end.

After Game 1, UNLESS George Hill can step up his level of defense to keep up with Nash or Richardson, the only defensive matchup that I like for him is Grant Hill (only because Grant is not very involved in the Phoenix offense, it seems) or Dudley.

I know that many of us are really high on Dejuan Blair, but lets be honest.... he is VERY limited in what he brings to the team on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. He is a small forwards height, but due to his limited athleticism and inability to stretch the floor is playing power forward. Unfortunately, his lack of height combined with sub-par horizontal mobility presents HUGE mismatches for us against many of the leagues PF's... especially an Amare Stoudemire. This is why he racks up silly fouls so quickly when he's in the game Our best defense to Amare, IMO is McDyess followed by Bonner. We can not afford to wear Duncan on the Defensive end and we definitely don't want him picking up fouls.

As for Richardson, I feel he should remain Jeffersons responsibility. IF Jefferson could somehow manage to outplay Richardson in this series I am confident that we take the series in 7.

Good game for the Suns game 1.

Spurs made a couple runs and tied it up shows you're a playoff tested team.

It's game 1. It felt like a whole lot more for us in Phoenix I went to the game the place was crazy loud. But regardless it's 1 game.

Dallas won game 1 look what happened.

If the Suns want to show they're ready for the big time they'll win game 2. Popovich knows how to make adjustments.

I said Suns in 7 and I"ll stick with it.

Despite all the hooplah about the Spurs / Mavericks rivalry., it is the Suns that I always feel the most anticipation about facing.

Suns
Lakers
Mavs
Jazz

in that order

I think the Spurs could definitely steal one on the road judging by how both teams played tonight.

That's how the Suns have played since the all-star break. Don't expect the Suns to play much worse than that for any stretch longer than a game every here and there. Especially when they're motivated and playing as the underdog's.

Suns are the 3rd seed with homecourt - how exactly are they the underdogs?

Considering you have won every series against us.

Considering the national media loves you guys in terms of championship respect...which you deserve

Considering the league probably still thinks we're overachievers.

Considering we dont have Lopez with us right now and we're kinda undersized.

Those are a few reasons.

8 of 10 pick the Spurs

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/playoffs/se ... scD7KmxMEF

3 of 4 pick the Spurs

And I can't find the Fox Sports video where both analysts pick the Spurs in 6.

So that makes 13 of 16 picking the Spurs that I've found in the last 5 minutes. So if/when we beat you, don't give me this the Suns were the higher seed bullcrap because almost everyone is picking the Suns to lose

So would you consider us beating the Mavs in the first round an upset?

By the way, referencing Yahoo Sports kills what little credibility you had.

Hopefully both teams can stay healthy throughout this series. That way there are no excuses for either side.

As for the game, I thought the officiating was remarkably even. Very few games this year(not just suns games but any game) has the officiating been good. I thought in game 1 they were a little inconsistent with the amount of contact they were letting slide but they called it pretty even for each team which is about as much as you can ask for in a series especially one with as much history/animosity as this one.

To whoever said he didn't think the Suns would play this well for the rest of the series. As a Suns fan I can tell you that offensively we didn't play well for big stretches this game. We missed open jumpers, we had unforced turnovers, and in general didn't play well. I thought our defense(YES THAT"S RIGHT DEFENSE!) is what saved us in game 1.

With that said, if we can't find a way to slow down Parker we will be in trouble. I think Pop actually outcoached himself by pulling Tony Parker in the 4th. He was the only reason you guys made that run to start the half. He's our problem, and for you guys you need to figure out a way to guard Amare. If Duncan isn't on him then really you better hope Dice can play 40 minutes a night. Because Bonner/Blair don't stand a chance.

Wish I didn't have to work tomorrow. I'm gonna miss the game :(
